Texas Regions Activity

We have been studying the geography of Texas. Geography is the study of the Earth, and for this activity we will be specifically working on the state of Texas. This activity will count as one test grade. This project is to create a map of Texas showing each region and its geographic characteristics and resources.

_________ STEP THREE: On the PLAIN regions map, create your own map of Texas:

Color each region a different color. You will add these colors to the key and label them with the name of the region.

_________ STEP FOUR: Draw and label the following rivers:

Rio Grande Trinity

Sabine Brazos

Red River Colorado

Pecos

_________ STEP FIVE: Using your Research Notes, draw, write and use symbols to represent your research on your map.

For each region include:

✓ Geographic Features – 2 features

✓ Climate – 1 thing and the inches of rain per year

✓ Natural Resources – 2 – 4 resources

✓ Economic Resources – 2 - 4 resources

✓ Major Cities – 2-5 cities

_________ STEP SIX: Create your key, include ALL symbols and the region colors. This may be created on a separate piece of paper, and then glued on.

_________ STEP SEVEN: Add a title and decorate the border.

_________ STEP EIGHT: Attach your research, Geographic Sections of Texas map and your map together and turn by Wednesday, September 29.
