Introduction
After each decennial census, all legislative .disu-icts are realigned according to population. Contained in this book are statewide maps of congressional, legislative, Ohio Court of Appeals and Ohio School Board districts. Also included is information regarding the population of each county and legislative district.
The Ohio Apportionment Board, in accordance with the United States Constitution, the Ohio Constitution and various court decisions, developed district boundaries for the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate. Each Senate district consists of three contiguous House districts.
The number of Ohio representatives to Congress was reduced from 21 to 19 as a result of 1990 census population figures. New congressional districts were drawn based upon these figures by joint action of the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate. The governor signed the new congressional districts into law.
Districts for the Ohio Court of Appeals are defined by statute. These districts were last altered in 1980. Districts for the Ohio School Board consist of three contiguous Ohio Senate districts. The governor drew the districts in 1992, pursuant to Ohio law.
