Each instrumentalist must be a member of a large instrumental ensemble meeting during the day at their primary school. Each member that plays an instrument in the day band program will be required to play that instrument in the marching band. Exceptions include: bassoon and oboe. Other exceptions include instrument changes in order to better balance instrumentation. For example: having a baritone player switch to tuba. Each student must be in good standing within their own school “day” performing ensemble or risk being suspended from the organization until that requirement is met. Color Guard participants are not required to be in a large “day” program instrumental ensemble. All members are expected to participate in ALL RCSD Marching Band functions. These include rehearsals, performances, trips, and other full band activities. All students are expected to attend all rehearsals and ALL PERFORMANCES ARE MANDATORY! Students are expected to adjust their schedules in order to attend the regularly scheduled rehearsals and performances.
