Classroom Expectations

*Supplies

-Pencil and pen -3-ring binder with paper -Graph Paper

-Colored pencils -assignments and daily work - Calculator -Any other item assigned by the teacher

*Attendance

-If you should be absent from class, excused, you will be allowed the same number of days you were

absent to make your work up.

-If you were absent on the day of a test or quiz you will be required to make it up within one week after

School or arranged by the teacher.

-Regular attendance in this class is essential to your success.

_ Perfect attendance and a C or better in Marine Biology = an automatic A on the semester Final exam

-Do not put your classmates in a precarious situation by being absent on the day a major group assignment

is due. This is not a good reflection on you or your group. Arrange ahead of time with me to have your

group present at a later date.

*Late work

-All work is due on the date specified.

-Work that is turned in late will be docked one full letter grade for each school day that it is late.

-If you are going to be absent on the date that a long term assignment is due you must make arrangements

with me prior to the absence.

-Check on the Mr. Kosters Website for updates of assignments and activities.

*Class Conduct

-Students will copy the “Rules of Conduct” into their own words on the back side of this paper in order

to receive credit for this assignment.

-If you cause a disturbance in this classroom which interferes with other students rights to learn, you will be asked to stay after class to discuss the incident. Repeated disturbances will result in detention and/or office referral.

*Grading

-The course grade will consist of the following criteria: Grading Scale

Homework, notebooks, and in class assignments and Labs 30% A 90-100

Tests and Quizzes 60% B 80-89

Class participation and notes 10% C 70-79 D 60-69 Fail 59and below
