Job Description

Position: Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing

Status: Exempt

Reports to: Carter Bray, VP-General Manager, Variety Potato Division

Primary Function:

Manage the execution of Potandon’s annual marketing plan. Responsible for coordinating all aspects of traditional marketing and advertising, on-line and social media platforms, and other related activities to enrich the standing of the company, our brands, and our image within the trade.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field

• 3-5 years’ experience working in marketing or advertising

• Understanding of fresh potato and onion industry a plus

• Strong analytical, database and computer skills required including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photo Shop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Office Suite programs.

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational and communication skills, including written and verbal.

• Demonstrate curiosity; excellent problem-solving skills

• Self-Motivated Team player – with a results-oriented attitude and creative background.

• Strong cross functional Project Management capabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities: Business Marketing

• Accountable for development of Marketing Strategy and Tactics; Identify new business opportunities through:

o Development, execution of consumer research projects

o Secondary data collection and analysis

o On-going competitive intelligence gathering

o Anticipation of new trends

o Development and launch of all new products

• Develop all marketing materials

o Work with VP-GM on the development of trade ads, on-line graphics, brand standards and other sales related materials

o Create and maintain an electronic database of all POS, sell sheets, and other sales tools that will be accessible on-line for customer download via our website.

o Manage Quik-Lock and couponing programs to establish cross-promotional partnerships for enhanced retail impact.

• Develop, manage and execute digital marketing strategy.

o Responsibility for social media strategy development and execution.

▪ Provide regular detailed e-marketing plans for sales to leverage

▪ Refresh and update sites as needed

▪ Work with Food Bloggers and other non-conventional media personalities

o Work with Chef Bryan and Cooking with Chef Bryan Television Show as needed.

• Manage All Corporate Marketing Activities, including but not limited to:

o Execute a combined print and electronic roll out of “The Healthy Potato Company” corporate positioning; leverage across packaging, POS, selling materials and business cards

o Execute consumer promotions for all existing and new products as needed.

o Management of premiums point of sale material, trade gifts, banners, signage, trade show displays, booths, banners, and other related material used to support business.

o Coordinate and schedule all aspects of trade show and convention activity

o Oversee CMS for Potandon and Growers Express.

o Execute Potandon’s Public Relation and communication strategy in conjunction with the VP-GM – includes Press Releases, Company Communications, and e-mail messaging.

o Manage good-will activities of Potandon including but not limited to e-Christmas cards, Annual Calendar, Post card and blast fax promotions.

o Interact with the Idaho Potato Commission and the United States Potato Board as needed.

o Manage customer lists, blogger lists and trade retail program lists.

• Manage the Marketing budgets

o Track overall expenditures and prepare regular, easy to navigate reporting for Management.

o Keep Senior Management informed on a regular basis of effectiveness of Marketing activities, overall spending versus budget, key partner relationships, and potential challenges.

o Control Expenses and operate within budget parameters, identify variances between actual and budgeted expenditures

• Travel as needed to support Potandon

• Execute Special Assignments as needed
