What have you been up to?
Graduated St. Mary’s, Marquette, St. John’s Mercy Department of Maryville College. Married Nick in 1971. Worked as an R.N. for 36 years to help put our six children through 102 years of education, culminating in two master degrees, four bachelor degrees, and nearing a journeyman certificate. We were blessed with, contributed to, and survived 26 consecutive years of Catholic education. Our kids attended St. Mary’s for 22 consecutive years (1977-1999) and Marquette for 17 consecutive years (1986-2003). We have five grandsons and two granddaughters. Nick and I are both retired and continue to enjoy our lives together.

What have you been up to?
I married my ex-husband and gave birth to my son in 1972 in California. Returned to Illinois in 1973. Worked at McDonald’s for three years, then I worked at Olin for four years, then I worked at Shell Oil for 15 years before being laid off. I worked four or five other jobs until 2005. In 2007 I moved in with my mother as a family caregiver. During that time I attended LCCC while waiting for my disability to go through. After getting my disability I moved to East Dr. in East Alton. In 2014 I moved to my current address. I enjoy crocheting, embroidery, plastic canvasing and other types of needle work.
My son lives with me as he is also disabled. We keep an eye on each other.

What have you been up to?
I’ve lived in the Alton area all of my life. Bill and I have been married for 43 years. I retired in May 2015 from the Alton School District. We plan to spend more time at the lake during the summer and hope to visit our son and his family more often in Indianapolis. Loving retirement!!!!!!!

What have you been up to?
I got a degree in Computer Science from SIUE and worked in IT for my whole career – First National Bank of Alton, Citicorp, US Bank in MN, then IBM and Boeing back in St. Louis. I retired last summer. Since then I’ve been busier than ever as a subdivision trustee, volunteering, reading for book club, traveling (Danube River Cruise in 2014, Alaska tour/cruise in 2015), visiting family and outings with friends.

I was a stay-at-home mom raising 4 kids for 12 years. I divorced, went back to school (LCCC), became a registered nurse and have been employed at St. Anthony’s as a surgical nurse for 24 years. I remarried 18 years ago to Dan Witcher, who is also a nurse but retired this year.

What have you been up to?
How has 50 years passed so quickly? It seems like yesterday that I was donning that cap and gown to receive my diploma!
Career: I became a nurse and pursued a masters degree in oncology nursing, but have also worked in several other fields. I have been involved in clinical practice, education, consultation and research. I was privileged to publish in several nursing/medical journals, write chapters in nursing textbooks and lecture internationally. I “retired” in 2013, but currently co-chair the parish nurse ministry at my church. It is more work than I had anticipated, but I like to be busy. Even when I was a student at St. Mary’s, my parents instilled the importance of volunteering. I have continued that throughout my entire life.
Marriage: I moved to Chicago in 1973. While living there, I re-met Paul Springman (a fellow Altonian) in 1990 and we married in 1992. In 2000 we moved to Richmond, VA (Paul was transferred). We have settled into our life in Richmond and it is now home. Paul retired from his corporate job in 2010. He is currently self-employed and consults with national and international insurance companies.
Interests: We enjoy travel and actually just returned from a 2 week river cruise on the Danube with some of Paul’s fraternity brothers. We are grateful that we still have our health and will continue to travel as long as we can. I am active, so enjoy going to the gym, tennis and golf (much
better at tennis than golf). I started making jewelry several years ago, but have gotten away from it. Plan to reinvigorate that soon.

Mike founded the Newton School of Ballet (Artistic Director and Ballet Master) in Clayton, MO. He was a principal dancer with the Alberta Ballet Co. He was a Ballet Master for the St. Louis Ballet and later (1994) with the Dimensions Dance in St. Louis until the time of his death. Provided by his sister Melissa (Newton) Seymour.

What have you been up to?
I recently retired from the automobile business as a salesman after 33 years. I started a lawn service. To further keep me busy I joined the St. Louis Chapter of the American Red Cross Disaster Team. Nancy and I will be married 42 years this September…Where has the time gone??? We are blessed with 4 children: Sarah, Stephanie, Aaron and Jessica. They blessed us with 6 grandchildren, 5 boys including a set of twins and one girl. Life has been good and I feel very blessed.

What have you been up to?
I graduated from Marquette, went to NIU, then moved to Springfield where I began my teaching career. After 4 years I moved back to Alton. Worked at LCCC then stayed home while raising the kids. In August I’ll be starting my 18th year in the East Alton School District where I work as a parent educator in the Prenatal to 3 program. Joel and I have been married 38 years and raised 2 kids. Kyle is marrying Liz Lilley in July and is a chiropractor. Sarah teaches in an alternative high school in Kansas City. We’ve traveled a lot, have made it with the kids to all 50 states, also have traveled a little in Europe. Looking forward to much more when I retire! (This school year may be my last!)

What have you been up to?
After St. Mary’s, I graduated from Marquette in 1969 and St. Louis U in 1973. I received an MA degree in history from Duke University in 1974. I started working for St. Louis U in 1974 and I just retired in June 2014 after a 40 year career.
I married Carol in 1976 and we have raised two children. Our daughter, Beth, and her husband, Bryan Golden, have 3 sons. We have lived in Columbia, IL for 30 years. I am still working part-time for St. Louis U. I am a very lucky guy and I have enjoyed a wonderful life!

What have you been up to?
Marcia and I are retired. I retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 553 and from the State of Illinois. We do a fair amount of traveling and look forward to visiting our new grandbabies in Germany and Kansas. We have been happily married for 33 years and counting. What have you been up to?
Retired after 30 years as Special Education Administrator in Chicago area; now lives on Washington Island, WI. She blogs at ‘Island ’. She’s also on Facebook at ‘Island Mettle’.
I spent the majority of my teaching career as an administrator in a one building k-8 district and many days my mind clicked back to my days in that similar place known as St. Mary's. In addition, now I live on an Island with a one building k-12 school. They both seem to work quite well! I wish everyone the best and can't believe we are at 50 years for our class. Time does fly!

What have you been up to?
I moved to Tucson, AZ in July of 2001. I was working for a local home builder as his Field Superintendent. By 2003 I was working on my Contractors license, and within six months had started my own business. I am currently a licensed remodeling contractor, here in Tucson, with an ever increasing client base. My company is involved in a wide range of construction activity. The mainstay of my company has always been remodeling (kitchen and bath), but we are also involved in additions, decks, outbuildings, and window/door replacements.
Personally, in my spare time I enjoy hiking, photography, painting, reading, gardening, shooting pool, and cooking. Not necessarily in that order…LOL!
