Dear Coaches,

What a spectacular year of High school tennis. Let's take a look back at 2017 and the many accomplishments that we can all be proud of. First, thank you all for another great year of good sportsmanship and ethics that are to be commended. It's always nice when we can separate the competitive team matches with the integrity of our great game and the life lessons that come out of it all for our young people.

Congrats goes out to Hathaway Brown High School (DII/ Greg Aten) and Mason High School (DI/ Mike Reid)) for their Girls OTCA Team State Championships. Lets thank our OTCA Vice Presidents Mark Faber (Girls) & Chris Johnson (Boys) for their efforts in running such a successful OTCA tournaments again this year.

Have you checked out our "NEW" website (OTCA.us)? This was a big project and I want to personally thank Mike McGee for taking this on and making it so much easier to navigate for all of us.

Please let us know if there are additional features you would like to see so we can make this a one (1) stop shop for all of you.

I hope you noticed that you can sign up for the conference online now, as well as the team tournament. You can find our organizations history and follow the team tournament updated results from all of our districts. We have forms on our website for you to nominate and recognize good sportsmanship by coaches you play against during the season. There are also, scholarship opportunities for those of you that have children that are seniors and opportunities to nominate HOF coaching candidates that you know of that we should be recognizing for their great careers.

The 2018 OTCA/USPTA coach's clinic will be held on February 25-26, at the Marriott NW, Dublin, Oh. (614-791-1000). Please try to attend and take advantage of this opportunity where we join the USPTA and take advantage of the opportunity to continue to get better. Also, remember to try and invite your JV coaches and assistants so they feel a part of the team and can also benefit from the networking and sharing that goes on. Special thanks, to the OTCA board members who have worked hard to put this conference together for all of us. The clinic forms and schedule are posted on the website, as well as in this newsletter so please take the time to register your coaching staff and make hotel arrangements, so you don't miss out on this great educational opportunity.

Please don't forget to register your teams for the OTCA Boys tournament (OTCA.us) so you can participate for a chance at the state team championship.

Tennis Coaches Rules Interpretation Meeting The boy's tennis rules interpretation meeting is once again online this season. The online presentation is available on the website starting in February.

OTCA STATE TEAM TOURNAMENT Don't delay, sign up now!

Sign up for your team to compete in the State Team Tournament. Become a member of the OTCA and then sign your team up to compete in the State Team Tennis tournament. Boy's teams need to be entered before February 19, 2018 and the girl's teams need to be entered by May 19, 2018.

Sign up is on the membership application.

STATE TOURNAMENT: The Boy's State Tournament will be held at the Lindner

Family Tennis Center site in Mason, Ohio, across from Kings Island on May 25-26, 2018. The Boy's Team Tournament will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Reynoldsburg High School in suburban Columbus.

New Coaches Requirement All coaches, this year the OHSAA and ODE are requiring you to complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest / Lindsay's Law training. The only acceptable class is through the ODE (Ohio Department of Education). Links to the training are found both on the OHSAA and ODE website.

MEMBERSHIP: Is your membership up to date? . Janice Kampf sends notification as to whether or not

you are registered for the team tournament (by email if possible.) All memberships run from January 1 to December 31.
