After an in-class peer review workshop to determine if annotations

1. have successfully developed a working definition of the poetic device, via quoted textual evidence from Mary Oliver’s A Poetry Handbook,

2. have established the initial tone of the speaker via poetic device,

3. have successfully tracked and analyzed the changes in emotional tone throughout the course of the poem via poetic device, with supporting evidence from the poem’s text,

4. are free of spelling, mechanical, grammatical and stylistic infelicities.

students will make revisions and turn in the final annotation the following week.
