Marywood University invites applicants for the position of Dean of the College of Health and Human Services. We seek an experienced academic leader with vision and determination to lead a dynamic and growing College. The Dean reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The position is available as of July 1, 2011.

The Dean provides strategic, academic, and visionary leadership for both the collaborative and programmatic needs of the college, fosters excellence in teaching, research, grantsmanship, and service, and is responsible for academic, fiscal, and personnel matters. The Dean is the primary advocate for the College within the University and at local, regional, national, and international levels. The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge and experience of the programs within the college; in teaching, research, and scholarship; in procuring grants; and in accreditation of professional programs. The candidate must hold at least a master's degree in a field within the college and a relevant doctoral degree, possess a record of outstanding academic achievement, and qualifications to hold the rank of associate or full professor. The successful candidate will have at least two years experience of academic administration, including management of personnel resources, budget management, academic program evaluation, and assessment of student learning. The College of Health and Human Services, one of four Colleges at Marywood, supports 11 accredited academic programs in Heath/Physical Education and Athletic Training, Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, Physician Assistant Studies, Social Work and Administrative Studies, and a Ph.D. track in Health Promotion. In addition, the College supports a "world class" Human Physiology Lab.
