TOWN ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

• Nomination papers are still available for the April 27th Annual Town Election and no one has taken papers out for the following positions: Board of Health (1 opening), Parks Commissioner (2 openings), and Tree Warden. The deadline to pick up nomination papers is March 6th by 5:00 p.m.

• There will be a rabies clinic held from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14th at the West Townsend Fire Station.

• Open Air Burning Season has begun. Permits can be obtained at either the Police or Fire Station. The fee for the Burn Permit is $25.00 and is good until May 1st at 4:00 p.m.

• The Ashby Recycling Center Transfer Station will next be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, March 14th and March 28th this month. The RCTS has a Book Donation Drop-off container located at the facility. For more information contact Got Books at 978-664-6555 or donate@.

• 5’x8’ Funeral American Flag donations for the cemeteries in Town would be appreciated. Anyone interested in making a donation please contact Bill Seymour, Sr. at 386-5532.

• Public Service Announcements:

+ All eligible individuals (seniors and ADA qualified) wishing to participate in the Meals on Wheels Program should contact Angie Godin at 386-6800. Meals are only $1.00 and are now delivered Monday through Friday around noon.

+ MART Shuttle Service is available to all eligible (60 years or older, ADA qualified) individuals. Ashby residents may use the van on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for medical appointments and shopping. Interested residents should call Jennifer Collins Monday through Thursday at 386-2501, ext. 11 to apply and schedule use.
