Programme Overview & Objectives

The MA Organisational Leadership & Governance is a specialised interdisciplinary post graduate degree offered by the Department of Organisation & Human Resource Management at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). This MA in Organisational Leadership & Governance is an exceptionally valuable programme for understanding what leadership competencies are and how these skills can be developed.

As a professional programme, it broadens the horizon of the student and prepares them for global assignments. Governments and International organisations such as the UN, World Bank, IMF etc. are clamouring for good leadership and

governance skills. This programme is intended to endow students with these competencies through:

? Personal competencies diagnosis and measurement ? Interpersonal dimensions based on skills that enable leaders to develop employees' abilities and help them to perform on their jobs ? Leadership skills aimed at creating greater economic value for organisations e.g. organizational vision, business vision, resources management, customer orientation and negotiation. ? Research excellence in global leadership through our cutting-edge seminars and methods on how to conduct leadership research.

Lecture Period

This is a one year sandwich programme which offers a flexible but intensive lecture in June yearly. Lectures are held within three to four weeks in June; Mondays to Saturdays (7:00am to 8:30pm) and Sundays (2:00pm to 8:30pm). Exams are written in August over the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

Admission Requirements

A good first degree (at least 2nd Class Lower Division) from a recognized university or; an equivalent professional qualification, with at least two (2) years relevant work experience in leadership or executive position

Applications for admission into this programme are open from December to February every year.
