Pacing CalendarAbstract & ResourcesGrade 6 New York State Math Common Core Enrichment. The purpose of this cap is to align the curriculum to the New York State Common Core Standards, the published modules and New York Progress text. The following modules are included: Module 1: Ratios and Unit RatesModule 2: ?Arithmetic Operations Including Division of FractionsModule 3: Rational NumbersModule 4: Expressions and EquationsModule 5: Area, Surface Area, and Volume ProblemsModule 6: Statistics The following resources are to be used to help teachers address the needs of all students: Engage NY Modules [M]Go Math 6th grade Differentiated Instruction [GM]Big Ideas 6th grade Teachers’ Addition-Vocabulary Index pg. 11Big Ideas - glossaryNew York Progress Text Common Core Standards have been integrated into the math curriculum through the pacing calendar. These standards provide for a greater examination of the math concepts by the students. Additionally, this CAP includes a teacher friendly guide to the modules and aligns the New York State Standards to the Common Core. This will help prepare the students for the Math Assessment that they take in April.Rationale6th Grade 2015-2016 Pacing Calendar with Common Core Math ModulesThe rationale for this CAP is based on the change in the New York State Standards for the 6th grade. After a year of using the modules we needed to develop a pacing calendar based on the past year experience and the new Text Series being adopted. The calendar will make the transition for the new series and modules easy for both the students and faculty in the 6th grade. The common Core practices seek to develop math proficiency in students and establish a thorough understanding of math practices. The pacing calendar was developed to make the best use of the time needed to prepare the students for the upcoming exam based on the Common Core Standards. -51435-1117608055026-114300 SEPTEMBER
