An elderly couple, Mr and Mrs Kemp, want to hire a caravan for a camping holiday.

They got quotations to hire the caravans from two companies namely Rent-a-Van and

Holiday Fun.

Rent-a-Van : R750 per day

Holiday Fun : A once-off fee of R3 000 and a further R400 per day

Refer to the graph on ANNEXURE A provided. The graph indicates the cost structure of one of the companies.

1.1.1 Which company's cost structure is represented on the graph?

1.2.1 Calculate how much money the Kemps have budgeted for

entertainment per night if he has to spend the same amount every night.

12 litre per 100 km. Would they be able to travel a total distance of 700 km if

they only budgeted R1 000 for petrol? Show all your working.

nights at the caravan park? Give reason for your answer.

their holiday? Justify your answer with calculations.
