HOW TO CONNECT TO YOUR DREAMWEAVER SERVER (METIT@BU.EDU)

Before you can access any resources at MET you have to synchronize your password to BU Active Directory. Go to: bu.edu/computing/accounts/ad/kpw and follow the instruction.

Remote Desktop Connection

MET College provides you with a server hosting Dreamweaver for developing and running your websites as part of TM648 course. To access this server you will need to use Remote Desktop connection

On any Windows PC go to Start-Run type MSTSC in the Open field and click OK

In the Computer field type MET-VS104.BU.EDU and click Connect

Click OK to WARNING and logon to AD with your BU login name & password (after you sync it in step 1).

Once you connected, you will have access to TM648 share and Dreamweaver CS4 software.

There are two folders inside TM648 – INSTRUCTORS and STUDENTS

INSTRUCTORS folder contains materials you can view and download (if any).

STUDENTS folder is for you to store your work.

Before you store any of your files in STUDENTS folder, you have to create your personal folder inside it.

Please log out when done working on the server (Start-Log off yourname-Log off).

System Requirements

• Operating System Versions: Mac OS X version 10.4.9 (Tiger) or a later version of Mac OS

Note To verify that your computer meets these minimum requirements, on the Apple menu, click About This Mac.

How to Install

To install

1. Print this page if you want to use it as a reference when you are offline.

2. Quit any applications that are running, including all Office applications, Microsoft Messenger, and Office Notifications, because they might interfere with the installation.

3. Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

4. Click Download, or click the link for the language version that you want

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to save the file to your hard disk. If you are using Safari, the downloaded file is saved to the desktop unless you specified a different location in the Preferences dialog box of Safari. To check your preferences, on the Safari menu, click Preferences, and then click General.

6. Double-click the file that you downloaded in step 5 to place the Remote Desktop Connection volume on your desktop, and then double-click the Remote Desktop Connection volume to open it. This step might have been performed for you.

7. In the Remote Desktop Connection volume window, double-click the Remote Desktop Connection.mpkg application to start the installation process, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

8. If the installation finishes successfully, you can remove the installer from your hard disk. To remove the installer, first drag the Remote Desktop Connection volume to the Trash, and then drag the file that you downloaded to the Trash.

To remove this software

To remove Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac, move the Remote Desktop Connection application to the Trash, and then on the Finder menu, click Empty Trash.
