SETTING UP YOUR COURSE
You have received a McGraw-Hill Connect course for the statewide online course you are teaching, which has been shared to you from a Master Connect course. This course was developed by the designated Ivy Tech course developer.
To prepare your statewide online course for the start of the term, you will need to complete the pairing process and deployment of assignments between Connect and IvyLearn.
Pairing your Connect course with IvyLearn will allow for you and your students to move between the two systems without the need to visit two separate websites and enter two different log-ins.
Additionally, once your IvyLearn course is paired with Connect, the scores from the Connect assignments will automatically appear in the IvyLearn gradebook.
Follow the steps provided below to complete the process or refer to the document posted in your Ivy Advising area in IvyLearn.
PAIRING CONNECT WITH IVYLEARN If you get stuck or confused at any point, please contact McGraw-Hill Top Account CXG team (for Ivy Tech Instructors only) for detailed support with pairing and deploying Connect content. You will find contact information at the end of this document. 1. Log into IvyLearn and navigate to your course. 2. You should see the McGraw-Hill Connect link in your left-hand menu options. If
you do not see it, click on Settings > Navigation on the left menu. 3. Now click and drag the McGraw-Hill Connect link to the top part of the menu to make it available or click the setting icon and select "Enable" followed by "Save" at the bottom of the page.
4. Click on "McGraw Hill Connect" and select "Begin". Note: If you already have the automatic sign-in established you will click on "Pair with a Connect Section".
5. Enter your Ivy Tech email address and CONNECT password. (*If you do not know your Connect password, click "I forgot my password")
6. Once you log in, choose "A section in an existing course".
7. Select your course title (example for HLHS 101 below). If you see multiple course titles with the same name, find the one that has the section with the appropriate term/year (e.g., HLHS 101 00x Summer 2017 Online) 8. Select the section that is designated as "Course xxx - " and click Save. (*If you teach multiple sections, you should see multiple copies of the course listed and will repeat the process for each IvyLearn shell/Connect section.)
RE-LINK ASSIGNMENTS FROM COPIED COURSE/REPAIRING BROKEN LINKS After you pair your IvyLearn course with Connect, you will be required to re-link all established Connect assignments in the Master Ivy Learn course. To re-link your Connect assignments, follow the below steps:
1. In your Canvas course, click on McGraw-Hill Connect
2. Click on Re-link assignments from copied course
3. Click OK
4. You can go to Assignments or Modules in order to locate the re-linked assignment and click on it to verify that it takes you to Connect. If so, the assignment is properly re-linked.
