General Summary of Function/Purpose of PositionThe employee will complete and oversee all support aspects for micro-computers and laptops in the classroom environment. Employee will use best practices to facilitate repairs and support of computers, classroom peripherals, and video conference systems in classrooms throughout the state. Employee will schedule, build conferences, and facilitate audio and video meetings using the MCU system installed on the Distributed Learning (DL) network. 15. The total percentage of all duties performed must equal 100 percent.Duty 1General Summary:Percentage:40First tier responder for general support of Distributed Learning classroom equipment, computers, peripherals, VTC devices, projectors, and conferencing phone systems. Individual tasks related to the duty:Review helpdesk tickets and email requests for services and respond within 2-hour per SLA.Schedule and coordinate use mobile classroom resources.Elevate all requests for service that the technician is unable to resolve.Set up classroom and conference room areas for VTC or training per schedule.Answer phones and document requests for service or support.Duty 2General Summary:Percentage:40Update and maintain images for laptop and desktop systems in the Distributed Learning network environment. Serve as DL technician on contact teams to remote locations outside headquarters facility. Individual tasks related to the duty:Configure and maintain VTC equipment throughout Distributed Learning domain, bridges, portable, and classroom systems of varying models.Participate on IT contact team to remote locations to facilitate onsite repairs or maintenance.Verify image and updates on laptops and computers in DL environment. Duty 3General Summary:Percentage:15Schedule and support resources within the Distributed Learning network domain.Individual tasks related to the duty:Manage calendars and scheduling requests for 49 geographic locations throughout the state.Schedule and support video and audio conferences for all geographic locations. Defer excess requests to National Guard bureau using appropriate templates. Use templates to verify schedule to end user.Schedule online calendars to reflect confirmation of resources and VTCs to end users.Duty 4General Summary:Percentage:5Other duties as assigned by NGB or DMVA IT command.Individual tasks related to the duty:Special or unique projects as requested by department management. 16. Scheduling classrooms, conference areas, or VTC resources using existing scheduling system. Prioritizing use of resources or facilities based on existing hierarchy. These decisions will impact the entire department and National Guard users ability to have access to training and communication resources. 17. Refer to instructions.Employee will have periods of extended standing and sitting, must be able to climb ladders, work in small or confined spaces, lift equipment that may weight 50 pounds or more. Employee will have limited or no physical exposure to environmental hazards. Employee can expect standing and sitting extended periods at least 60% of the time. What are the essential functions of this position?This position functions as the first Tier support technician responsible for evaluating requests for support, the coordination and scheduling of resources and services for the DTMB/DMVA Distributed Learning Program, supporting the Michigan National Guard military personnel. The employee will provide Tier 1 level support and repairs using remote desktop software and hands-on repair techniques in compliance with department SOPs and industry standard tools. Strong personal communication skills contributing to both team and customer success using the resources of the program are instrumental to providing service in accordance with the department SLA. 24.
