POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Lab Assistant for Medical Assisting – Austell and North Metro campuses

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Part-time position. This is an open-ended announcement. Applicants will be reviewed as needed.

Lab Assistant responsibilities are centered on preparing the lab, teaching clinical skills and performing other duties to support the program’s mission. Day and evening positions are available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of accredited Medical Assisting Program

• Current CMA designation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in teaching

• I year of work experience as a Medical Assistant

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary--$15 per hour. There are no State Benefits.

Lab Assistant

POSITION TITLE: DEPARTMENT: Lab Assistant, Academic Affairs

RESPONSIBLE TO: Full-time Faculty

JOB OBJECTIVES: Part-time position. Lab Assistant responsibilities are centered on assisting faculty in preparing labs for student learning activities and assisting faculty during learning activities in the lab. Assignment may be at any of CTC’s campuses including Appalachian, Marietta, Mountain View, North Metro, Paulding, Austell, and Woodstock.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assisting faculty in preparing lab for learning activities.

2. Assisting faculty during lab hours.

3. Other duties assigned by faculty.

CRITICAL SKILL/EXPERTISE:

• Knowledge and expertise in the appropriate instructional area

• Provides a model for students to follow (Clear professional values and beliefs)

• Ability to relate on a professional level with students, staff, peers, and administration

• Ability to encourage

• Critical thinking skills
