The Medical Executive Committee approved a formal resolution endorsing adoption of an electronic communication process between Mercy Health Muskegon (MHM) and all affiliated practitioners to facilitate an automated mechanism for distribution of pertinent staff information.
POLICY/PROCEDURE
? As a provision of medical staff membership and/or allied health affiliation, each practitioner is required to provide to Medical Staff Services, and to maintain, an active e-mail address.
? The practitioner e-mail roster will be held in confidence within Medical Staff Services.
? E-mail utilization will be controlled by Medical Staff Services personnel linked to content endorsement by the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Quality and Safety, Medical Staff Officers, and/or Department/Section Chairs or designees.
? Staff members are responsible to review and appropriately incorporate the information.
? Any staff member can request creation of an internal e-mail account through Mercy Health Muskegon's electronic communication system by contacting the Medical Staff Office.
