We are actively looking for sponsors for all our clubs. Please check the website frequently as we will be updating it throughout the school year.Hayfield High SchoolClubs and Activities DescriptionsACE - To engage students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering and construction through mentoring.American Sign Language - To educate young people and teach them American Sign Language and the deaf culture.Anime - We will meet to draw and explore computer animation that originated in Japan.Arabic Club - To explore the language, writings and culture of the Arabic world.Asian Student Union - We will learn about the Asian culture and heritage.Astronomy Club -?This club will study everything beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.Athletic Training Student Aide - Will assist the Athletic Trainers at sporting events.? Learn the basics of first aid and safety.AVID - This is a class that meets during the school day.? It is offered in the school's course guide.? AVID stands for Advancing Via Individual Determination.Band Marching - Hayfield offers many band opportunities.? The mission is to break through social barriers and make special needs students feel welcomed in the Hayfield Community.BEYA (Black Engineer of the Year) STEM Mentor - To explore the opportunities for future careers in the STEM professions.Blood Donors Club - This club hosts various blood drives during the school year.? Our club will assist the blood banks in keeping the hospitals full of these life-saving products.Book Club - Students will meet to read and discuss various genres of books.Broadcast Journalism - This is a class that meets during the school day.? In this course, you will learn all about producing the daily school news.Business Honor Society - This group is established to recognize those outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in their business classes.Chorus - There are many levels of chorus offered in the course guide.? There will be concerts and events outside the regular school day.Class of 2021 - The Senior Class meets to discuss activities for the school year.Class of 2022 - The Junior Class meets to discuss activities and fundraisers throughout the school year.??Class of 2023 - The Sophomore Class meets to discuss activities and fundraisers throughout the school year.Class of 2024 - The Freshman Class meets to discuss activities and fundraisers throughout the school year.Coding Club - This club will work on coding challenges, problems and tutoring.?College Partnership - College Partnership Program (CPP) is to increase the number of students, particularly first-generation and traditionally underrepresented students, to enroll and succeed in college.? There is an application process for the College Partnership Program. Interested students should contact their counselor.Color Guard - This group works closely with the Marching Band.? Performances will be in competitions and at home football games. ? This does not require playing a musical instrument.??Dance Team - This team performs at various athletic events throughout the year and attends dance competitions in the area.Debate - This club will compete on various topics.? Skills used will be oral and written communication, critical thinking, research, organization and public speaking.DECA - prepares students to become leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools.Drama - A full description of the Drama Hawks can be found hereEducators Rising - Students that are interested in pursuing the teaching profession.English Honor Society -This group is established to recognize those outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in their English classes.Environmental Club - The goal is to improve the current conditions of the environment through projects such as recycling and helping the community.?Ethiopian-Eritrean Society - This club meets to explore the cultures and traditions of the Ethiopian and?Eritrean community.Every Mind Matters - To provide education and promote awareness of various mental health issues.Family, Community & Career Leaders (FCCLA) -?FCCLA helps students to focus on career preparation in four specific paths such as Human Services, Hospitality & Tourism, Education and Training and Visual Arts and Design.Fellowship of Christian Athletes - FCA focuses on serving local communities around the globe by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire and change the world.?Film Club - This group will discuss films, film writing, and the craft of making movies.?First Generation American Alliance - Students will be able to share experiences and gain resources that are needed to assist with challenges that are common to First Generation Americans.Forensics - Forensics is a speech that comprises the practice of public speaking and debate.? There are many different speech examples such as oratory, oral interpretation, duo interpretation and extemporaneous.?French Club - The French Club will explore the language and culture of France.French Honor Society -?This group is established to recognize those outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in their French classes.FBLA - Future Business Leaders of America helps to prepare students for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs.Frisbee Club - This group will practice and promote the flying disc sport.Future Medical Professionals - This club is for students who are interested in learning more about medical careers.Girls Supporting Girls - This group will enhance self-esteem of young women and encourage them to grow and create positive social change.Girls Who Code - This club will encourage more young women to participate in STEM activities to close the gender gap.GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) - GSA is a student-run club that unites LGBTQ+ community?to meet to discuss issues impacting them in their schools and communities.?H2N Student News Magazine - This is a journalism class that meets during the school day.? Learn how to work the audio and lights for performances in the auditorium.Hayfield Black Student Union - This group of African American students meets to affirm their culture and discuss the issues faced in society.Hayfield Helping Hands Club – This club is to help people that are in need and give back to our community. This club will not be limited to helping the people in our immediate community area but also people across the country and hopefully, the world.Hayfield’s K-Pella - These students have a passion in performing musically vocally without accompaniment. They follow the same process that real lawyers experience.Model UN - Model UN is a simulation of UN organizations such as the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, UNICEF, and others.? D&D is the game Dungeon and Dragons.Technology Student Association (TSA) -?This club is a national organization devoted to?the needs of students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).Thespian Society - This group is established to recognize those outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in their Drama/Theatre classes.Tri-M Music Honor Society - This group is established to recognize those outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in their Music classes.Yearbook - This is a class called Photojournalism 1-4, so to participate you must be enrolled in the course.
