Lincoln Park Academy 10th Grade Summer Reading Assignment

For the 2019-2020 school year at LPA, all incoming non-IB 10th grade students will read 3 novels over the summer and complete an assignment for each novel. The required 10th grade novel is Night by Elie Wiesel. Students will also choose two novels from the 2019-2020 Florida Teens Read list and complete the required assignments. Please see the uploaded documents on the school website.

Students must read the 3 novels and complete the plot curve assignment (front AND back) for each. The assignments are due on the first day of school for full credit! No exceptions! Students will be required to complete a multiple choice exam on Night and an in-class written assignment on their 2 choice novels. The teacher will provide the exam and the in-class written topic on the 2nd day of class, and the students may use their plot curve maps to complete the multiple choice exam and the written assignments.

8/15/19 Black Day (B) (the second day of your scheduled class)- Assignments WILL NOT be accepted after the second day of your scheduled class. In class assessment: 8/15/19 Orange (A) day and 8/16/19 Black Day (B) 2nd day of your

scheduled class- Multiple choice exam- Students may use their plot map on the exam- Summative grade (test category- worth 50% of the overall grade)
