Gender Impact Analysis ToolPurposeThis Gender Impact Analysis tool has been developed to support ACT Public Service employees to undertake better analysis of the impact that their programs and services will have on men, women and gender diverse individuals in the ACT. It also provides a template for preparing a Gender Impact Statement where this is required. This tool may also be of use to the broader ACT business and community sectors.IntroductionGender equality means having equal access to resources and opportunities, regardless of whether you are a man, woman or identify as gender diverse.As ACT Government employees, we have a responsibility to help progress gender equality. One way we can do this is by reviewing our policies, programs and projects to consider the different impacts they might have on men, women and gender diverse people.Gender is a mandatory consideration in all Cabinet submissions through the Triple Bottom Line Assessment Framework.This template will guide you through a best practice process of thinking carefully about your work with a focus on gender equality. It is particularly recommended when you are:developing new policies and programs; reviewing existing policies and programs; and during the project planning phase. It is important to complete this template early in the planning process because it will help you understand how your project will impact different groups and give you an opportunity to ensure it achieves its objectives in a fair way. How to get startedIf you are completing the Gender Impact Statement as part of a Cabinet submission, you would already have completed the preliminary information and questions as part of the Triple Bottom Line Assessment process. Please proceed to the Gender Impact Statement template on page 4 of this pleting the preliminary information and questions below will help determine if your work will have an impact on gender equality. If you answer yes to any of the preliminary questions, then you should continue with the template. If you answer no to all questions, then you do not need to complete the template. Please email your completed the Gender Impact Analysis template to women@.au. This will help the ACT Office for Women to stay in the loop on work that is being done across the ACT Government and how we are making positive changes towards gender equality. It will also help the ACT Office for Women ensure that you have the materials that you need to properly consider these issues and provide you with feedback on themes, insights or issues that may be relevant to your work.
