Reflecting changes in law passed by the 85th Legislature, Regular Session ? 2017

The laws reflected in this edition include both substantive and nonsubstantive revisions to the law passed by the 85th Legislature. References to agencies, such as the Department of State Health Services have been updated along with revisions to reflect the governance of the agency by the Health and Human Services Executive Commissioner.

Additionally, due to the myriad of legislatively directed changes to the composition and structure of Department of State Health Services and the Health and Human Services Commission, which are slated to take place over the next few years, the agency names associated with certain functions cited in law may not accurately depict the entity which is currently performing those duties.
