Thesis: American servicemen and servicewomen returning home with disabilities from war in the Middle East need additional assistance that cannot be provided by the federal government. Without help from the non-profit organizations like Homes for Our Troops and the Injured Marine SemperFi Fund, many men and women who willingly gave of themselves for freedom’s sake would return home to houses unequipped to handle the challenges of the disabled, to lifestyles requiring rehabilitation, and to communities lacking tools to help soldiers readjust to non-combat life.

Thesis:  The earthquake in Haiti left a poor country even poorer. Among the Haitian citizens most affected by the natural disaster are children whose health, education, and nutrition are vital to the future of Haiti. The non-profit charitable organizations, Hope for Haiti and Save the Children, are instrumental in meeting the long term needs of Haiti ’s children.

Thesis: Human trafficking is to the twenty-first century what slavery was to the nineteenth century. Since the effects of human labor trafficking, bonded labor, sex trafficking, child sex tourism, and forced child soldiering are found in nearly every nation throughout the globe, organizations like World Hope International and World Vision are needed to provide the global resources necessary for individual nations dealing with the harmful practice of human trafficking.
