We are committed to developing services that are sensitive to individual need and of measurable benefit to users. Leeds Mind is funded by LYPFT to develop and deliver peer support within the CMHT, which provides community-based services that enable people to define, build and live a meaningful, independent and satisfying life. Purpose of the role We have variable hours available for a peer support worker to support our permanent staff within the CMHT Peer Support Team. This post will provide ad hoc support, in delivering one to one and group peer support, carrying a small caseload to meet the needs of the service. Main tasks and responsibilities: Help individuals identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals and collaboratively set recovery objectives. Model personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-belief, self-advocacy, and hopefulness via appropriate and timely relating of own recovery story to inspire and instil confidence in peers. Facilitate access to Leeds Mind peer support groups as well as networks that enable participation in community activities, to maximise opportunities and support opportunities for training and work. Use own initiative, personal experience, and job-related training in deciding on the approach and interventions required when working with a service user in delivering one to one peer support. Work in a way that acknowledges the personal, social, cultural, and spiritual strengths and needs of the individual. Promote social inclusion for service users by facilitating and supporting access to a variety of community-based opportunities including work, social groups, education, spiritual pursuits, leisure activities to ensure holistic wellbeing.
