HOLLYWOOD’S PREMIERE SCREENING OF “OUR LAST” “A FILM ABLE TO MOVE AND GENTLY ENTHRALL AUDIENCES” SAID THE CONSUL GENERAL ANTONIO VERDE WHO WILL WELCOME THE DIRECTOR DI MARTINO AND THE LEADING ACTOR GUGLIELMO POGGI THAT WILL BE PRESENT FOR “STARRING EURPOE FILM FESTIVAL” IN LOS ANGELES.
“Our Last”, an “on the road” movie by the young filmmaker Ludovico Di Martino, will be screened in Los Angeles on May 15 during “Starring Europe”, a Film Festival organized by the Consulate General of Italy, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute, the delegations of the EU Countries in Los Angeles and American Cinematheque.
Now in its fourth edition, “Starring Europe” will bring to Hollywood, from May 9 to 15, the best contemporary films from the European Union, and will give to the audience the possibility to interact with filmmakers and actors from the movies to be screened.
“Our Last” tells the story of a journey which follows two brothers in conflict. When their mother suddenly dies, the two, struck by guilt and remorse, decide to fulfill her last wish to visit Sicily all together, and make their final family vacation an impromptu road trip with her coffin tied to the roof of their car. The experience will uncover all the complexity of their relationship.
the film has won several awards: “Best Movie” award at Ferrara Film Festival 2016; “Honor Mention” award at New Jersey Film Festival 2016; “Jury Award” at Montelupo Fiorentino International Film Festival 2016; “Audience Award“ at Montelupo Fiorentino International Film Festival 2016; “Special Jury Mention” at Festival dei Popoli e delle Religioni (Terni Film Festival) 2016; "Best Feature Film" award at Kiwi International Film Festival (New Zealand); "Best Film of the Month" award at the Around Film Festival (Berlin); “Best Film of the Month" award at the Miami Independent Film Festival 2016.
Ludovico Di Martino and the lead actor Guglielmo Poggi, (“Best Actor” al Milan International Film Festival nel 2016 - Best Acting Performance, Da Vinci’s Horse MIFF Award), will attend the screening at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica followed by a Q&A with the audience.
