1 Complete 40 hours of approved Pre-Licensing education. The CE Shop is an approved Real Estate Education provider by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Our 40-Hour MI Pre-Licensing Course includes at least four hours of civil rights law and equal opportunity in housing as required by LARA. 2 Complete the course final exam. Upon completion of all the course material, we'll provide you with a practice exam to prepare you for the course final exam. The final exam is comprised of 110 questions and requires a minimum passing score of 70%. This course does not need to be taken in the presence of a proctor.

3 Schedule the real estate Salesperson exam via PSI Exams Online. LARA employs PSI Exams Online to manage scheduling of exams and administers the exam for all MI salesperson candidates. 4 Choose a sponsoring broker. As you go through the process of earning your license while studying, find a sponsoring broker that you'll be proud to work with as a licensed Michigan real estate salesperson. Picking the right broker is a key factor to starting a successful career in real estate, which is why it's important to have the right fit.

The following questions will help you find the right broker.

? What is their reputation, both locally and nationally? ? What kind of real estate agents are they looking for? ? Are they technologically advanced and up-to-date with the latest systems? ? How do they support their agents with education and training? ? What kind of commission structure do they offer? ? Do they offer benefits? ? Do they provide their agents with leads and marketing material? ? Is there room to grow with the brokerage?

5 Complete and submit the MI salesperson licensing application. Once you've passed the licensing exam, download and complete the application from Michigan's LARA website. The website provides detailed instructions for completing the New Salesperson License Application, which can be found here.

6 Receive your license! Once your licensing application is approved, LARA will issue you your new Michigan real estate salesperson license.
