In order to ensure both the widest dissemination and protection of material published in Indian Journal of Applied Microbiology (IJAM), we request the author to transfer to the Indian Journal of Applied Microbiology (IJAM), Chennai, India, the all rights relating to copyright in the Articles they contribute for publication in IJAM. This is intended to ensure protection against copyright infringement. The transfer of copyright must be clearly stated in writing. AGREEMENT FOR ASSIGNMENT OF COPYRIGHT

In consideration of the publication of Article and subject to the provisions of the accompanying Publishing Agreement Information furnished hereunder, the Authors assign to us, the Indian Journal of Applied Microbiology, (which expression shall unless it be repugnant to the context, be deemed to include its legal heirs, agents, successors, authorized representatives and permitted assigns), with full title guarantee all rights of copyright and related rights in their Article. The “term” assignment shall include the assignment of the rights:

i. To publish, reproduce, distribute, display and store the Article worldwide in all forms, formats and media now known or as developed in the future, including print, electronic and digital forms;

ii. To make the Article suitable for publication which includes the right to make such changes in the article as we deem fit and proper for safeguarding ourselves against any third party infringement or to ensure compliance with any law for the time being in force or for any other purpose. For the sake of clarity, this also includes reserving the right not to proceed with publication for whatever reason.

iii. To translate the Article into other languages, create adaptations, summaries or extracts of the Article or other derivative works based on the Article and all provisions elaborated in 1(i) above shall apply in these respects;

iv. To sub-license all such rights to such others as may be deemed necessary

In the event the Article is not accepted and / or not published by us or is withdrawn by the Author(s) before our acceptance, the assignment of copyright set out in this agreement shall cease to be effective and all rights assigned by Author(s) to us in relation to the Article shall revert to Author(s).

Governing Law

This agreement (and any dispute, proceeding, claim or controversy in relation to it) is subject to Indian law and the jurisdiction of the Courts of Chennai. It may only be amended by a document signed by the Author, Indian Journal of Applied Microbiology (IJAM) represented by its authorized representative.

Author Rights

The Author(s) hereby assert their moral rights to be identified as the Author(s) of the Article according to the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.

Author Warranties

1) Author(s) hereby warrant that they have secured the necessary written permission from the appropriate copyright owner or authorities for reproduction in the Article and in the Journal of any text, illustration, or other material.

2) Author(s) warrant that the Article is their original work, and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity and cannot be construed as plagiarizing any other published work.

3) Author(s) further warrant that the Article is not currently under submission to, nor is under consideration by or has been accepted by any other journal for publication.

4) In addition Author(s) warrant that the Article contains no statement that is in any other way unlawful or illegal or in violation of any law currently for the time being in force

5) Author(s) warrant that the client or participant in any research or clinical experiment or study who is mentioned in the Article has given consent to the inclusion of material pertaining to them, and that they acknowledge that they cannot be identified via the Article and that Author(s) will not identify them in any way.

6) Author(s) warrant that they shall include in the text of the Article appropriate warnings concerning any particular hazards that may be involved in carrying out experiments or procedures described in the Article.

7) Author(s) undertake that they will keep us and our affiliated indemnified in full against all loss, damages, injury, costs and expenses (including legal and other professional fees and expenses) awarded against or incurred or paid by us as a result of your breach of the warranties given in this agreement.

8) Author(s) affirm that they have reviewed the Publishers’ Publishing Ethics and Conflicts of Interest Disclosure policies, and will include in the text of the Article an appropriate statement should they have a financial interest or benefit arising from the direct applications of their research.
