NOT REQUIRED ?914400213995Under the general supervision of the Deputy Labor Commissioner III (Sr. Deputy), the Office Technician (Typing) will perform a wide variety of the most difficult clerical duties involving the administration of Licensing and Registration programs in order to provide timely and accurate support of the registration process to the public and Labor Commissioner staff. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:GENERAL STATEMENT00Under the general supervision of the Deputy Labor Commissioner III (Sr. Deputy), the Office Technician (Typing) will perform a wide variety of the most difficult clerical duties involving the administration of Licensing and Registration programs in order to provide timely and accurate support of the registration process to the public and Labor Commissioner staff. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:GENERAL STATEMENT% OF DUTIESESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS50%Processes new and renewal applications for the Licensing & Registration Program, which ensures employers are aware of basic labor, law requirements and comply with regulations surrounding licensure. The position primarily processes garment registrations; however, it provides opportunities to assist with farm labor contractor, janitorial, car wash, entertainment work permits and other small registration programs. Performs cashiering and docketing functions, prepares documents to transmit payments from the program to the Accounting Unit. Contacts applicants to inform them about licensing and registration requirements and procedures. Checks the status of applications received via web-based applications, uploads documents into case management system, and assigns applications to more senior staff for review. Processes exam authorization letters, which allow applicants to be able to schedule and take their garment exam. In accordance with statute, that provides requirements for licensure, schedules and proctors exams; primarily garment exams with occasional farm labor contractor and studio teacher exams for applicants. 20%Answers and returns telephone, e‐mail and walk‐in inquiries from the public as to the status of their registrations/licenses/permits by utilizing the database to access their records. Independently responds to correspondence regarding requirements and procedures. 15%Prepares letters, statistical reports and processes incoming mail, which includes, but is not limited to, opening, sorting, dating, filing and distributing; provides clerical support to the professional staff as required in order to streamline license applications.10%Performs Public Information Duty (PID): Answers telephone inquiries andassists the public at the counter with questions regarding labor law enforcement.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS5%Responds and acts on requests from deputies from Bureau of FieldEnforcement, Judgment Enforcement, and Wage Adjudication units.
