The instructions will tell you what specific task to perform and give you a link to the instructions for creating the specific task. There are seven Tasks for this project. Each is broken into Steps. This is guided self-learning, so yes it will be a bit easier than having to learn something on your own without guidance. Remember! Read/watch the instructions BEFORE you ask your instructor for help. When you are done with this project, you will have a Website that will show off who you are, your work in K200, and help you find a job. You can do this. IntroductionNeed a Website two hours ago and have no idea how to use Dreamweaver or code your own Website in Notepad? Fret not. There are plenty of Websites that help you make a Website. Just type “websites that help you create your own website” in Google search and see for yourself. These sites are often called content management systems and are referred to as CMS. CMS have built-in themes or templates that you select and edit. They will also have a built-in partial Web addresses for you to use. A CMS can help you make a usable Website in a few minutes. Now yes there are problems inherent in using a CMS. For one thing you cannot always control how your Website will look or function. However, the final product is often beautiful. For this class we will use Weebly at . Weebly also has a blogging tool. You can have a Website with a blogging page. You will create a blogging page within your Website. You will now use Weebly to make a Website in less than 15 minutes. NOTE: Be sure to visit Ms. Lion’s Weebly site - – and her Weebly Resources page - - for up to date links on using Weebly. TASKS for Creating Project WebsiteUsing These InstructionsThis project is written as Tasks which then have Steps. Under each Task you will find: BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Read/do this BEFORE you start the task.BEGIN: Starts you on the Task process.Table. The table is broken into:Steps – Gives number of the steps Do – What you need to do Read – What you must read to gain the knowledge to complete the step. When you have finished, move to next Task. Often a CMS will change how to use it without your prior knowledge. You will then get to learn the new process all over again. OPENING LINKS IN WORD: When you see a Website or Webpage in this document, it will be underlined and be blue. To open the Website, hold down your Ctrl key and then click on the link. If you are in the STC lab, it will open in Microsoft Edge. ALSO: Web Browser for Weebly Editing: As of March 2017, the best browser to use when creating/editing a Weebly site is Chrome. Use Chrome for all Weebly creation/editing. If that does not work, try Mozilla Firefox. Microsoft Edge has not been tested for this project. When you are done reading, you can follow the below steps.NEVER CHOOSE BUSINESS FOR ANY OPTION!Step 2Go to . Click the “Sign Up” Button. Step 3 Fill out the Full Name; Email; and Password textboxes.Step 4Select a Theme. BEST to choose from Personal Themes if available.
