This competency-based course places emphasis on what the learner can do in the workplace as a result of their training, with successful learners being able to perform workplace activities to industry standards. The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO #22004), and the Certificate IV in Bereavement Support course leads to a Nationally Recognised VET Qualification. The Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) accredits the training under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). The following terms and conditions constitute the agreement and understanding between you (the student) and The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (#22004) for the duration of your enrolment into the listed course intake. 1. DOCUMENTATIONTo ensure successful enrolment into the course, the Student Enrolment Form, must be completed and returned to ACGB within a timely manner. Any documentation not fully completed, will not be processed, therefor delaying the successful enrolment into the desired intake. Once documentation is processed successfully, the student will receive their Learner Handbook and login details to commence the Certificate IV in Bereavement Support Online Course. 2. COURSE DURATIONIt is expected that students complete the Certificate IV in Bereavement Support Online Course within 12 months of their enrolment. This date is based around students receiving their login details and Learner Handbook. Students exceeding the 12 month period, will be required to pay additional $50 per month for tutor support. 3.COURSE STRUCTUREThe following table represents the volume of content and level of complexity of the units of competency in the Certificate IV in Bereavement Support. 4. WITHDRAWALSThe Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement offers a seven-day cooling-off period, whereby learners can withdraw without penalties and a full refund will be actioned. If a learner wishes to withdraw from the course any time later than seven days following their enrolment, they should advise the Courses Coordinator in writing. An opportunity may exist to defer studies and continue later. 5. REFUNDS Payments for the course will be direct debited monthly. Once a withdrawal has been authorized, the student direct debit will be ceased from the following first of the month following the withdrawal.6.RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available where participants are able to demonstrate that they already have the competencies specified in the description of any of the units that are required for the Certificate IV in Bereavement Support qualification. Please email courses@.au for a RPL application form, if you wish to apply for RPL for any of the Certificate IV in Bereavement Support units. 7. CREDIT TRANSFERCredit transfer is the process of granting participants credit for accredited study previously completed through another VET or Higher Education provider. Having provided your Certificate or Statement of Attainment indicating a competent level of attainment in each of the units you apply for, the ACGB will verify these with the issuing RTO or through the Unique Student Identifier Number. The participant will be granted credit for the units of competency previously completed. This must occur prior to commencement of the unit/s. 8. LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)The Learning Management System used for the Certificate IV in Bereavement Support online course is Learnbook. Acrobat Reader is required on your computer to ensure the successful completion of these units. The Adobe application is a free download available for all PC and Mac uses. Student user guides will be provided to guide students through the LMS. 9. ASSESSMENTSLearners will be provided with assessment activities at relevant points during the course. The assessment activities will describe each of the tasks that must be completed for that unit. The learner may contact the tutor if any aspect of the assessment activity is unclear. The assessment activities come in quick succession throughout the course. Some will require bullet point or very short answers, while others will require research and longer written responses. It is strongly recommended that you make every effort to progress through the course and assessments in a timely manner where possible. Assessments are writable PDF forms which need to be submitted online via the Student Management System Learnbook. 10. RECEIVING RESULTSResults are provided to the learners within three weeks of submission. Individual assessment activities will be assessed as being either ‘Satisfactory’ or ‘Not Satisfactory’. And when all the assessment activities within a particular unit are deemed Satisfactory, the unit result will be marked as Competent. If any of the assessment activities is assessed as ‘Not Satisfactory’ then the unit’s result will be marked as Not Yet Competent. Those graded ‘Not Yet Competent’ will be given detailed feedback as to the reasons for the mark and further opportunities for resubmission. 11. LEARNER FEEDBACK AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT As part of our commitment to learners and their professional development, ACGB is keen to hear from you about their progress in completing the course. You will be contacted during the course to provide feedback on our service and your progress. These evaluation tools include evaluation forms, AQTF learners’ questionnaires as well as verbal feedback. ACGB welcomes any feedback you feel is relevant, as we see this as an opportunity to review and improve our policies and practices and to gain insight into participant satisfaction levels. 12. PRIVACY No staff member of ACGB can provide information about you to a third party without your written permission. In signing this Agreement you give your consent for the ACGB to provide information about you to another organisation on those occasions as necessary as an RTO (such as the Unique Student Identifier (USI) to the Department of Education, AVETMISS data to the VRQA, etc). 13. QUALIFICATIONLearners who successfully complete all the required units from their course will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Qualification Certificate and associated Statement of Results within 30 days. This will be sent to the learner’s nominated address and specify the qualification name, code and individual units within the course, along with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement’s seal. Please note that a reissue of your Certificate will cost $50.00 (administration fee) and proof of identity is required. A Certificate without the seal is not valid. Where a learner does not complete the full requirements of the course, a Statement of Attainment for the successfully completed units will be issued. 14.
