Dear IT Director - OneNote Class Notebook Creator request

Dear <IT Director, insert name if known> and <Name>, Director of Schools, Administrators are always looking for ways to be more organized and work strategically with our school(s), our staff, and the district. I have been using OneNote, a cloud based notebook, in our district’s Office 365 tenant to stay more organized, collaborate with my various academic teams, other administrators, and make better use of the technology that we have been provided. Recently, Microsoft announced the release of a FREE education app for Office 365 called OneNote Staff Notebooks that I believe will save me time and boost my administrative work efficiency. The only thing that it requires of our IT Director, or the tenant administrator, is to install the app once for all administrators and school leaders. I can do all the setup that I need to do through my OneDrive for Business account. All of the instructions for installing it can be found here: , and I’ve been told that it only takes a few short minutes. There is also a great interactive tutorial on that takes administrators through the steps on setting it up here: . Here are just a few of the ways OneNote Staff Notebook can benefit our district administrators for you to consider:Time saver – This is a collaborative and individual workspace as well as a great way to deliver district policies, procedures, school improvement plans, meeting agendas and committee work. We can save paper, printing costs, and copy/collating time because anything needing to be distributed for staff meetings or district work can be printed straight to OneNote, and the staff can capture additional notes they need in the same space.Administrator efficiency – This tool promotes administrator and teacher organization, as well as global work habits, anytime/anywhere access to materials and work documents, and school handbook space, as well as, timely peer and teacher feedback or evaluations. Lesson plans could easily be posted in individual staff sections for admin review and access in case a substitute is required for a class.?Ease of Use – OneNote is already a great tool but with this app I can easily add the teachers' notebook in with the administrator notebook to allow for ease of delivery and a collaborative digital space. Using this option, my teachers can work together on grade level or content area planning, while I coach and monitor information in real-time as we lay out scope and sequence for the academic year based on student data.?E-learning resource – great way to empower administrators and teachers to use electronic resources in an organized way that is highly customizable for our professional learning communities as well as individual staff professional learning. This creates a very strategic environment for me to assist those educators needing to develop a self-improvement plan. Each teacher/staff section is private and administration can observe documented progress and annotate as necessary to help every teacher improve their professional practice. This tool will allow all administrators, school leaders, and teachers to make the best use of the district’s technology resources and I look forward to hearing from you when it is installed. Thanks for all the work you do and assistance you provide every teacher in this district to help drive student achievement.Sincerely, <Administrator’s Name> ................
