Ms. Russell presented some of the information included in the plan: (A copy is attached and made a part of the minutes)Since 2005... 25.6% Increase in the Graduation Rate24.5% decrease in the Dropout Rate26.4% increase in the Completion Rate230 students graduated in 2015 (compared to 184 in 2005)Also, the plan gives needs assessment areas and dropout preventive strategies. Grenada High School Principal, Mr. Jerry Williams addressed the board explainingthat there were 10-12 indicators where we needed improvement and we have takenthe necessary steps towards these indicators with providing STEM and Keystone courses for all 9th graders, dual credit, providing more information to the community, and will continue to work to get these students more involved.Grenada Middle School Principal, Mr. Lyle Williams described some of the areas of improvement for the middle school that included a spring transition meeting for new students and parents coming to the middle school, a middle school newsletter, and using google chrome.Upon motion by Dr. Braswell, seconded by Mrs. Conley, the Grenada School District Dropout I Restructuring plan was approved as presented.
