School Plan For Student Achievement (SPSA): Action item Goals based on the previous year’s data. Unfortunately, there is NO data from last year. Goals will be based on data from the Smarty Ants, Achieve 3000, and i-Ready beginning of year baseline assessments. Teachers know how important it is to share this data with parents, without overemphasizing the programs. This is a living document. We can and will make changes based on future needs.Slides 3&4 show the PREVIOUS year’s data (3: ELA, 4: Math) and looks at how close to 3 (proficient) our school and student groups are.Slide 5: we need to maintain a little better regarding our EL students once they have been reclassified. Also, need to focus on the ELPAC students at levels 1-3.Slide 6: Chronic Absenteeism has decreased dramatically! Yippee! Made phone calls and home visits. Parent meetings, and giving training. Chronic absence = 18 days in the year. Principal reached out BEFORE they got to that point, so families were less likely to get to that point.(CAASPP test is likely to be administered this year. It has been shortened.)Five goals: Slide 7…ELA: By June 2021,K-1: 90% in Smarty Ants proficient. (Middle column are % of students already AT grade level or above) (Homeless is only one student)2: 85% in Smarty Ants proficient.3-6: 75% in Achieve 3000 proficientSlide 8…Math: By June 2021, based on the beginning of year diagnosticK-6: 65% of all students will be proficient in i-Ready (green)K-6: 50% of students who start the year one grade level below (yellow) will increase to at or above grade level (green)K-6: 75% of students who start the year two grade levels below will increase to approaching grade level (yellow)Slide 10…ELPAC: Students at level 4 will be reclassifiedAll students at levels 1-3 will increase by one level.Slide 11…Chronic AbsenteeismAverage daily attendance will increase from 97% to 98% (If you’re not at school, you’re missing out). Asian and 2 or more races increased slightly last year. How can we support that?No suspensions=no goalNeed to start making plans…based on data, what do we need to spend and how can we support our students? Title I funds have to be spent on our lowest performing students (Students With Disabilities).Money spent last year: for Students With Disabilities, the RSP teachers and current aides, ran an after school program that gave specific support to RSP students (on time-card). Speech program for the Speech teacher. RSP teachers received Read Naturally to increase basic reading skills for far below reading levels. A second reading program and training. Occupational Therapist received OT equipment and weighted vests. $7,000 for Math Instructional Aide$14,000 for underperforming students in Language Arts$5,000 for program to support reading studentsLooking at our English Learners and Students With Disabilities to support these two groups. These are the two targeted focus groups. Support all children.Approving for now. We will make changes as we see fit. DRAFT!!! Will go to the District School Board in December for approval.Approval for the numbers listed in the power point as goals: DRAFT!!!Lisa Lines??Motion to approve DRAFT of SPSA?Pam AmbroseMotion seconded?Pat Moriarty5 min?Certificated/Classified Site paid positions/Budget: Action ItemApproving for now. We will make changes as we see fit. For the proposed budget of 2021-2022. Staffing decisions must be made much earlier than the end of the year.Title I MUST be for the lowest performing studentsMove SIPPS and Math aides to Title I funds. In the groups they meet with. The Students With Disabilities need the additional assistance more than other students.Subs cost should be lowerAdditional Noon Duty…safety is of utmost concernDistrict paid Illuminate instead of individual schoolsBudgets will be impacted greatly next year! CARES Act kicked in and paid for things we thought were going to be underfunded.Instructional Aides paid through Title IEliminate Library Media Tech (discussing at the district level to cut ALL school librarians!) Propose eliminating the two Techs (on Thursday and on Friday)Noon-Duty: reduce, but not eliminateComputer Lab IA: reduced from 31.5 by about half (the district is increasing their IT department), especially with Distance Learning becoming more prevalent and parental need. We may need to bring this back up if needed.Reduce Noon Duty hoursEliminate Library Media Tech (paid by school, other is paid by district)Reduce Computer IA Tech Lisa Lines?Motion to approve POSSIBLE Budget?Pat MoriartyMotion seconded?Jess Parris10 min?Committees Report: Information ItemBudget Advisory Committee: Meeting in October: overview of the committee. Meeting last week: site budgets will be based on attendance from last year? Not yet giving school site budget…everything is behind. Not a lot of information yet. Draft usually in October, with updates in January, and possible projections with a May revision. We do not yet have a proposed budget yet from the state. District is being very cautious. District is fiscally sound and making wise decisions. Oscar Esquivel is district budget and he does well. District reserves have kept jobs in the past.OPTC: general meeting coming soon (December 9). More information will be on the blog. Holiday Drive Thru craft night with treat of hot chocolate and candy cane, with Mrs. Lines reading on a Saturday morning at 9:30 am.ELAC: no recent meeting. ELAC was really strong last year and this year is challenging to be online and juggling kids at home. Attendance has dropped with that committee. They are a very social group, but it took place during the school day.DAC/DELAC: nothing new to report. Elections of officers for board.Teachers and Parents need to like and share the posts. Encourages more participation. Committee Chairs?5 min?School Safety Plan: Information ItemBlog will have additional information regarding school safety planLisa Lines?5 minLeader in MeParent workshop will be held in December. A Passion Team is coordinating. Please watch video on slide 16.Lisa and Staff5 min?Oral Communications: Information Item10 am tomorrow: channel 10 news is featuring Eastlake Educational Foundation (usually raises funds, but none of those events can occur this year. Community campaign kicks off tomorrow. They are hoping to generate donations. General fund: split between 7 schools. OV has a code, so donations can go directly to that school. Attendance at golf tournament went down, so money wasn’t raised. Also, being health conscious. EEF has also raised money through sponsorships. Families are struggling right now also, so it’s hard to request more money from them. Principals sent videos and spliced together. What we spent money on and hope to in the future.
