Dear MTCU Member/Owners:

MTCU will hold our 2019 Annual Meeting on Monday, February 25, 2019 at our Midkiff Branch located at 4717 N. Midkiff Rd. Midland, TX. Our meeting will begin at 6:00 pm. No meal will be served but Door Prizes will be!

This year the Nominating Committee is composed of: Nancy Ashley- Chairperson, Linda Hancock and Jayme Tedder. Two Directors' terms will expire: Ofelia Pallanez- Vice Chairman and Robert CedilloDirector. The committee respectfully submits the following nominees to serve a three (3) year term: Ofelia Pallanez, who is seeking re-election and Virginia Conner.

Ofelia Pallanez is a retired teacher that worked with MISD for 34 years. She has also served on the MTCU Board of Directors for over 20 years. She enjoys reading and also volunteers at Midland's Friends of the Library.

Virginia Conner has lived and worked in Midland, TX for 43 years. Her work experience in Midland has been in retail, with what locals will remember as Conner's Delicatessen and Car Wash, and then as a teacher with Midland ISD for 24 years. Many summers she worked with the youth summer programs at the Workforce Center, and additionally has been involved in several United Way agencies like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Midland Need to Read, Girl Scouts, Casa de Amigos and Keep Midland Beautiful. She also served with both the Midland and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. While being fluent in both English and Spanish she has maintained her passion since retirement in helping our community with her many public relation roles.

Nominations from the floor. After the report of the nominating committee is made to the membership, the presiding officer shall call for nominations from the floor. When nominations are closed, the vote shall be taken. Elections may be by voice vote unless a member demands that the election be by ballot for a particular contested position. If such a demand is made, that position shall be determined by ballot.
