Info-Arctic Circle Station -002A

W1AW / KL7 on Alaska’s Arctic Circle JULY 26th to AUGUST 10th All Bands.

Imagine Millions of electrons, ready to set the Alaskan Skies of Midnight Sun ablaze. Come up for just one day, where it will be all days and no nights in the far north of Alaska’s Arctic Circle. A ham radio Special Events Station will be on the air from Alaska’s Arctic Circle at 66° 33’ North LAT (Grid Square BP56) at the intersection of the Dalton Highway, 200 miles north of Fairbanks Alaska.

Run the 2008 Alaska ARRL convention station W1AW / KL7 while riding in the Earth’s Gray-Line Terminator Zone. In our Alaskan Summertime with the Earth tilted at 23.5° towards the Sun, gives KL7 over 6 to 8 hours of twilight to ride into and back out of the Terminator, while also skirting the Terminator’s back side edge. Your Ham radio signals will circle to the DX locations around the globe as Alaska’s Arctic Circle station plays with Mother Natures Ionospheric RF Dance.

From the top of the Sun splashed world, your signals can take off in both directions at the same time. Europe & Africa off to the East on one side, and with VK-ZL + Asia off to the West on the other side.
