Official Raffle Rules

Description: This raffle is conducted by the American Cancer Society, Inc. (ACS) and is governed by all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Funds raised will benefit the American Cancer Society's mission.

Raffle drawing will be held on December 8, 2021, at our Hall Corporate Office, located at 441 Viking Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 at approximately 12:30pm. Drawing will be broadcast live on the MileOne Facebook page. By purchasing a ticket, you understand and agree that should you win, your name will be announced on the Facebook Live Broadcast.

Entrant represents that they meet all of the stated eligibility requirements and agrees to be bound by these official rules.

The winner need not be present to win but must be available to attend the contest-related event in January 2022. Winner must also consent to the use of his or her name, image, city and state of residence and photographs without compensation in any publicity or advertising by the American Cancer Society and MileOne Autogroup, except where prohibited by law.

ACS may, at its sole discretion, cancel, suspend, and/or modify the official raffle rules for purposes of protecting the integrity of the raffle.

To Enter: Tickets are $10 each.

Tickets are available for purchase at the American Cancer Society offices, located at 405 Williams Court, Suite 120, Baltimore, MD 21220 and 477 Viking Drive, Suite 130, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Staff and volunteers will also sell tickets throughout the ticket sales period which concludes November 30, 2021 at midnight Eastern Time.

Tickets are also available for purchase at any MileOne Autogroup dealership in Maryland or Virginia.

Purchases may be made by cash, credit card, debit card or check. Checks should be made out to the American Cancer Society.

Prize: There will be one winner of the raffle. Winner may select a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 with a fair market value of $43,055 or an alternative prize option of $20,000 payable by check. This prize was generously donated by MileOne Autogroup.

Vehicle pictured on raffle ticket is stock photo of the vehicle model. Actual prize vehicle will vary. ACS reserves the right to substitute the above-referenced vehicle for a comparable model if the abovereferenced vehicle becomes unavailable.

Official Raffle Rules

Winner who selects the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 will be responsible for all sales tax and estimated withholding tax, licensing, registration, and other transfer costs and all expenses associated with ownership.

Winner who selects alternative monetary prize will receive a check for net proceeds within ten days of prize acceptance.

Prior to award of vehicle or alternative prize, winner must complete an IRS form W-9 and provide government issued picture identification and pay ACS all applicable withholdings on the prize awarded. Federal tax withholding is 24%, less the amount of the wager, and is applied to the fair market value of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250, which is $43,055, or to the alternate cash prize of $20,000, if selected. Federal, state, and local tax laws are all applicable to the winner.

The winner will receive a W2-G in the applicable tax year from ACS to complete their annual tax returns.

The IRS has taken the position that raffle ticket purchases are not gifts and therefore do not qualify as a charitable donation. Entrants should check with their tax advisor regarding tax components of ticket purchases or taxes associated with raffle winnings.

Participation: Entrants must be 18 or older to participate in the drawing or win a prize. Persons under 18 years of age may not be the beneficiary of a ticket purchase.

Entrants must be citizens or legal resident of the United States.

Society staff and their family members and volunteer chairs and committee members are not eligible to win. Society staff is defined as anyone employed in any capacity by ACS or the ACS Cancer Action Network. Associates of MileOne Autogroup and its affiliates are not eligible to win.

Selecting the winner: Winning ticket will be drawn randomly from a receptacle.

The winner does not need to be present to win.

Each entry has a separate and equal chance of winning. Odds of winning will depend on the number of tickets sold.

Winner will be contacted using the contact information on the winning ticket. Entrants must fill out all required fields on the ticket stub. Email address is optional; by submitting your email address, you agree to receive e-mail communication regarding raffle updates.

Official Raffle Rules

If selected, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 is accepted when the winner signs the IRS Form W-9, provides valid state or federally issued form of identification, remits withholding taxes, sales taxes, licensing fees, and registration fees using guaranteed funds, and takes possession.

If selected, the $20,000 cash alternative prize is accepted when the winner signs the IRS Form W-9, provides valid state or federally issued form of identification, and indicates, in writing, that winner is choosing the cash prize alternative of $20,000. Winner will receive check for net proceeds within 10 days of prize acceptance.

If a prize winner does not accept prize within 7-days, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to the back-up winner who will be drawn in the same manner as the winner.

Prize may not be transferred until after acceptance.

If a winner declines the prize, they must sign a Raffle Prize Disclaimer form.

Additional Information: MileOne Autogroup and American Cancer Society, its members, officers, directors, agents, and representatives and their parent organizations, affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or unintelligible entries; (ii) failed, returned, or misdirected notifications based on inaccurate information provided by the entrants or winner; (iii) telephone, electronic, hardware, or software program, network, internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of MileOne Autogroup and American Cancer Society that may cause the raffle to be disrupted or corrupted; or (v) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by a prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of a prize, or from participation in the raffle.

For the cost of copies and postage, documents and other financial information is also available from the Maryland Secretary of State or the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

This raffle is void where prohibited by law.
