The site reports that in the "History of Hamilton County," (p. 78), it is mentioned that Samuel Hays enlisted in Co. K, 115th N.Y. Inf., in August 1862, but there is no record of his service in the 115th under that name. The site reports that his gravestone reads, "Co. K, 115th N.Y Inf." Listed as "Hays, Samuel N." on the pension file index card. ................
