It’s going to be a very exciting and educational year. Biology is intended for those students seeking a lab science that deals with living organisms. Through hard work and an open-mind I know we will have a very successful school year. Daily Materials: (Necessary)1 inch, Divided, 3 Ring Binder with College Ruled Paper (4 Divisions: Journal, Notes, Vocabulary and Labs)#2 pencil or blue/black ink penColored Pencils (10)Classroom Policies:Show respect.Bring appropriate materials to class everyday.Follow instructor’s directions and use class time appropriately.Clean up after yourself.No Food or DrinkZoom Classroom Policies:Be on time.Dress appropriately for class.Be aware of surroundings, audio and visual surroundings.Mute yourself unless speaking.Make-Up WorkYou will be given one additional day for everyday you are absent (excused absences only) to make-up any work assigned on the day of your absence. Any work due on the day of your absence is due the day you return.AttendanceAny combination of 10 or more absences and/or tardies will place you on attendance probation and you may lose credit for the semester.GradesGrading Scale100% to 89.5% = A89.4% to 79.5% = B79.4% to 69.5% =C69.4% to 59.5% = D59.4% to 0% = F15% of your semester grade will come from a final exam.The remaining 85% of your semester grade will come from the Measurement and Performance Activities: Exams, Quizzes, Projects, Labs and Lab ExamsGeneral Statement of Academic IntegrityIntegrity of scholarship is essential for an academic community. If internet access is a problem and your student needs a hard copy of the book to keep at home, they may check out a book at the FHS library. This book will not need to be brought to class each day. I will keep an in class set of books for student use during instruction, however these books will not be allowed to leave my classroom.
