Alive, Awake, Alert

I’m alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic

I’m alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic

I’m alive, awake, alert

I’m alert, awake, alive

I’m alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic.

Alligator Pie

Alligator pie, Alligator pie

If I don’t get some, I think I’m gonna die

Give away the green grass, give away the sky

But don’t give away my alligator pie

Alligator stew, alligator stew

If I don’t get some I don’t know what I’ll do

Give away my furry hat, give away my shoe

But don’t give away my alligator stew

Alligator soup, alligator soup

If I don’t get some I think I’m gonna droop

Give away my hockey stick, give away my hoop

But don’t give away my alligator soup

The Alligator Song

*Chorus: Alligator, Alligator

Can be your friend

Can be your friend

Can be your friend too

The alligator is my friend

He can be your friend too

If only you would understand

That he has feelings too

*

The alligator laughs and sings

He never cries the blues

I’d rather have him on my shirt

Then have him for my shoes

*

The alligator ate my friend

He can eat your friend too

If only you would understand

That he has feelings too.

All My life’s a Circle

All my life’s a circle

Sunrise and Sundown

The moon rolls through the nighttime

‘til the daybreak comes round

All my life’s a circle

But I can’t tell you why

The seasons spinning ‘round again

And the years keep rolling by

Seems like I’ve been here before

But I can’t remember when

I get this funny feeling

That we’ll be together again

No straight lines make up my life

All my roads have bends

There’s no clear cut beginning

And so far no dead ends

I’ve found you a thousand times

I guess you’ve done the same

But then we lose each other

It’s just like a children’s game

And as I see you here again

The thought runs through my mind

Our love is like a circle

Let’s go around one more time

All Things Shall Perish

All things shall perish from under the sky

All things shall perish from under the sky

Music alone shall live

Music alone shall live

Music alone shall live

Never to die

The Animal Fair

I went to the animal fair

The birds and the beasts were there

The big baboon by the light of the moon

Was combing his auburn hair

The Monkey slipped off of his bunk

And fell on the elephants trunk

The elephant sneezed and fell on his knees

And that was the end of The monk, the monk, the monk…

Announcements! Announcements! Announcements!

Announcements, announcements, announcements!

A horrible way to die,

A horrible way to die,

A horrible way to be talked to death,

A horrible way to die.

Baby Beluga

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,

Swim so wild and you swim so free.

Heaven above, and the sea below,

And a little white whale on the go.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga, is the water warm?

Is your mama home with you, so happy.

Way down yonder where the dolphins play,

Where they dive and splash all day,

The waves roll in and the waves roll out,

See the water squirting out of your spout.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga, sing your little song,

Sing for all your friends, we like to hear you.

When it's dark, you're home and fed,

Curl up snug in your water bed.

Moon is shining and the stars are out,

Good night, little whale, goodnight.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga, with tomorrow's sun,

Another day’s begun, you'll soon be waking.

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,

Swim so wild and you swim so free.

Heaven above and the sea below,

And a little white whale on the go.

You’re just a little white whale on the go.

Baby Bumblebee Song

I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee

Won't my mama be so proud of me

I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee

Ouch!!!! That bumblebee stung me!

I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee

Won't my mama be so proud of me

I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee

Yuck!!!! It's all over me!!!!

I'm licking up the baby bumblebee

Won't my mama be so proud of me

I'm licking up the baby bumblebee

I don’t feel so good

I'm barfing up the baby bumblebee

Won't my mama be so proud of me

I'm barfing up the baby bumblebee

Eww! What a mess!

I'm sweeping up the baby bumblebee

Won't my mama be so proud of me

I'm sweeping up the baby bumblebee

Oh, my mommy wasn’t so proud of me.

Barges

*Chorus: Barges, I would like to go with you

I would like to sail the ocean blue

Barges, have you treasures in your hold

Do you fight with pirates brave and bold?

Out of my window, looking in the night

I can see the barges flickering light

Silently flows the river to the sea

And the barges too go silently

*

Out of my window, looking in the night

I can see the barges flickering light

Starboard shines green and port is glowing red

I can see them flickering far ahead

*How my heart longs to sail away with you

As you sail across the ocean blue

But I must sit beside my window dear

And watch you sail away from here

*

Be kind to your web footed friends

Bicycle Built for Two

Daisy, Daisy, give me you answer true.

I'm half-crazy all for the love of you.

It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage;

But you'll look sweet, upon the seat

Of a bicycle built for two.

Henry, Henry, here is your answer true;

I'm not crazy over the likes of you.

If you can't afford a carriage, forget about the marriage;

'Cause I won't be jammed, I won't be crammed

On a bicycle built for two.

The Big Rock Candy Mountains

In the big rock candy mountains

There’s a land that’s fair and bright

Where the handouts grow on bushes

And you sleep out every night

Where the boxcars are all empty

And the sun shines everyday

Well I’m bound to go where there ain’t no snow

Where the rain don’t fall and the wind don’t blow

In the big rock candy mountains

Oh, the buzzin’ of the bees in the peppermint trees

‘Round the soda water fountains

Where the lemonade springs and the bluebirds sing

In the big rock candy mountains

You never change your socks

And little streams of lemonade

Come a-tricklin’ down the rocks

The hobos there are friendly

And their fires all burn bright

There’s a lake of stew and soda, too

You can paddle all around them in a big canoe

In the big rock candy mountains

Oh the buzzin’ of the bees in the peppermint trees

‘Round the soda water fountains

Where the lemonade springs and the bluebird sings

In the big rock candy mountains

Billboard

As I was walking down the street one dark and dreary day,

I came upon a billboard and much to my dismay,

The sign was torn and tattered from the rain the night before.

The wind and rain had done its work and this is what I saw:

Smoke Coca-cola cigarettes, chew Wrigley's Spearmint beer.

Kennel Ration dog food makes your wife's complexion clear.

Simonize your baby with a Hershey’s candy bar.

And, Texaco's the beauty cream that's used by all the stars.

So, take your next vacation in a brand new Frigidare.

Play a Hammond organ in your Damart underwear.

Doctors say that babies should smoke 'til they are three.

And people over 65 should bathe in Lipton Tea.

Birch Tree White

(tune: Edelweiss)

Birch tree white, our delight

Northern symbol of beauty.

Sea foam white, sea blue bright,

Tall and stately and lovely.

Pines on the hill won’t you sway and grow,

Sway and grow forever.

Birch tree white, our delight,

Guard our friendships forever.

The Birdie Song

This is a repeat after me song

Early in the Morning

When I was fast asleep

I heard a little birdie

go cheep, cheep

And this little birdie

Has a funny name

It’s

Called

Iga flyga fleega flyga ishka nishka nyga nyga iyga flyga

fleega flyga birdie

I’m gonna buy some bird seed

For my window sill

It’s just to keep him quiet

It’s just to keep him still

It’s for my little birdie

who has a funny name

It’s

Called

Iga flyga fleega flyga ishka nishka nyga nyga iyga flyga

fleega flyga birdie

The Birdie Song II

Way up in the sky the big birdies fly

While down in the nest, the little birdies rest

With a wing on the left, and a wing on the right

The little birdies sleep all through the night

Shhhhhh! They’re Sleeping!!!!

The sunrises up the dew goes away

“Good morning , good morning” the little birdies say

(repeat getting louder each time)

Black Socks

Black Socks, they never get dirty,

The longer you wear them the stronger they get!

Sometimes I think I should wash them

But something keeps telling me

No, no, not yet!

Blue Bottle

I have a little present here for you

Inside this tiny bottle so very small and blue

Please do not uncork it, simply put it on away

For inside, there lies a summer's day

Put it on away

Now I’d be pleased if you didn’t ask

Why I gave this gift to you

I don’t know myself; did it on a whim

As the thought came running through

I just wanna make you happy

In a summertime sort of way

And I thought you might like your own summer's day

Put it on away

Now can you read the writing on this tiny bottle’s wall

I know it is quite small but I can read it all

It says: She who is a readin’ me is a lookin’ right at my side

You might be kinda interested about what lies inside

They’ll be one breath of a butterfly

And one ray from the sun

And lots and lots of laughter

From little childrens' fun

So please do not uncork it

Or everything will get away

And I thought you might like your own summer's day

Put it on away

Boom Boom Ain't it Great to be Crazy

*Chorus: Boom Boom, ain't it great to be Crazy?

Boom Boom, ain't it great to be Crazy?

Giddy and Foolish all day long

Boom Boom, ain't it great to be Crazy!

Way down south where bananas grow

A flea stepped on a elephant's toe

The elephant cried with tears in his eyes

"Why don't you pick on someone your own size?"

*

Way up north were there's ice and snow

There was a penguin and his name was Joe

He got tired of black and white

So he wore pink slacks to the dance last night!

*

A horse and a flea and three blind mice

Sat on the curbstone shooting dice

The horse, he slipped and fell on the flea

Woops! said the flea, there's a horse on me!

Bug Juice

At camp with the Girl Scouts,

They gave us a drink,

We thought it was Kool-Aid,

Because it was pink.

But the thing that they told us,

Would have grossed out a moose,

For that good tasting pink drink,

Was really bug juice.

It looked fresh and fruity,

Like tasty Kool-Aid,

But the bugs that were in it,

Were murdered with Raid.

We drank by the gallons,

We drank by the ton,

But then the next morning,

We all had the runs.

Next time you drink bug juice,

And a fly drives you mad,

He's just getting even,

Because you swallowed his dad.

Bungalow

I'll build a bungalow big enough for two,

Big enough for two, my darling

Big enough for two.

And when we're married, happy we'll be

Under the shade of a great big bamboo tree

Boom-boom, boom-boom,

Boom boom boom boom boom boom

If you'll be M-I-N-E, mine. I'll be T-H-I-N-E, thine

I'll L-O-V-E, love you. All the T-I-M-E, time.

You are the B-E-S-T, best. Of all the R-E-S-T, rest

I'll L-O-V-E you all the T-I-M-E, time.

The Buzzard Song

If, I had the wings of a buzzard,

Up through the sky I would fly,

And there I would live as a buzzard,

Until the day that I died.

I died

*Chorus: Oo la la, oo la la, oo la la

Oo la la, oo la la, oo la la, la

Oo la la, oo la la, oo la la

Into the woods I would stomp, would stomp

There to remain as a pioneer, pioneer

Until the day that I died, I died

Calamine Lotion

(tune: My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean)

My body needs calamine lotion.

My body's all red, you can see.

The flowers I picked for my mommy,

Turned out to be Poison Ivy.

Don't touch! Don't touch!

Because it's Poison Ivy, ivy,

Don't touch! Don't touch!

Because it's Poison Ivy, ivy

Campfire’s Burning

Campfire’s burning, campfire’s burning

Draw nearer, draw nearer

In the glowing, in the glowing

Come sing and be merry.

Camping

(Tune: bicycle built for two)

Camping, camping, that’s what we like to do

Every summer, we’re off for a week or two

We never mind the weather

As long as we’re together

But we don’t approve of no room to moe

In a hike-tent built for two.

Camp Natarswi

Camp Natarswi we are singing

A song of tribute to you

At the foot of Mt. Katahdin

Where the water sparkles blue.

Camp Natarswi we are saving

A place in our hearts for you

To the colors green and white

We will ever be true

Camp Natarswi II

First part: Camp Natarswi (repeated)

Second part: Some call it fun but others call it madness

So come along with me and wipe away your sadness

Happy campers are we having fun neath the trees

And when we are gone you will remember our song

Were from Camp Natarswi, Camp Natarswi…

Can a Woman?

(Tune: She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain)

Can a woman fly an airplane?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Can a woman build a building?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Can a woman fight a fire?

Can a woman change a tire?

Can a woman lead a choir?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Can a woman be a lawyer?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Can a woman fix an engine?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Can a woman be a drummer?

Can a woman be a plumber?

Can she play ball in the summer?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Can a woman be a doctor?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Can a woman drive a tractor?

Yes she can. yes she can!

Can a woman lead a nation?

Can she run a TV station?

Can she head a corporation?

Yes she can, yes she can!

Just you wait until we're older, then you'll see

We'll be women in tomorrow's history!

As we grow up through the years

We'll sing out loud and clear

Can we start the process here?

Yes we can, yes we can!!

Cannibal King

Oh the cannibal king with the big nose ring

Fell in love with the dusky maid

And every night by the pale moonlight

Across the bay he came.

He hugged and kissed his pretty little miss

A rump kiss kiss A rump kiss kiss A rump body oddy a

And soon they had a family

And every night by the pale moonlight

And then one night

They had a fight

Under the bamboo tree

And every night by the pale moonlight

The Cat Came Back

Old Mister Johnson had troubles of his own.

He had a yellow cat, and it wouldn't leave home.

He tried and he tried to give the cat away.

He gave it to a man going off to Bombay.

*Chorus: But, the cat came back the very next day.

The cat came back - thought it was a goner,

But the cat came back.

It just couldn't stay away.

He gave it to a man going way out west,

Told him to take it to the one he loved the best.

The train hit a curve, and it jumped the rail.

Not a soul was left to tell the gruesome tale.

*

Gave it to a gambler with a dollar note,

Told him to take it up the river in a boat,

Tied a rope around its neck that must have weighed a pound.

Now they drag the river for the gambler that drowned.

*

Gave it to a feller up in a balloon,

Telling him to take it to the man in the moon.

The balloon, it busted, and everybody said

Ten miles away, they picked that feller up good and dead.

*

The farmer swore he'd kill the yellow cat on sight,

Loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamite,

Waited and he waited for it to come around.

Ninety-seven pieces of the man is all they found.

*

Way across the ocean, they sent the cat at last,

Vessel only out a day and taking water fast.

People all began to pray, the boat began to toss,

Great big gust of wind came by, and every soul was lost.

*

On a telegraph wire, sparrows in a bunch.

Cat was feeling hungry, thought they'd be good for lunch.

Climbed softly up the pole, and when it reached the top,

Stepped on the electric wire which tied it in a knot.

*

The cat got discouraged and thought the thing to do

Was to take a vacation upon the ocean blue.

So it took a voyage to six foreign cities,

And came home one month later with six little kitties.

*

Cat was possessor of a family of its own

With six little kittens 'till there came a cyclone,

Blew the house apart and tossed the cat around.

The air was full of kittens; not one was ever found.

Change the World

*Chorus: Change the world come with me,

Time to let our dreams fly free

And it comes so easily, that is our way.

Every minute we're alive,

It's our love that will survive.

In the Girl Scouts together we change the world.

Sisters of every color,

Friends from everywhere

We all make a difference

When we show the world we care

Girl Scouts are a family,

And they show us what we can be

And I believe together,

We change the world.

*

In America, we have so much to give

To our sisters 'round the world

Who are struggling just to live

Light the light and do our share

Reach out your hand and someone's there

And I believe together,

We change the world.

Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips

Oh, when I was a camper, I never liked to eat;

The cook'd put things upon my plate, I'd dump them on his feet;

But then one day he made this soup, I ate it all in bed;

I asked him what he'd put in it, and this is what he said.

* Chorus: Oh, chicken lips and lizard hips and alligator eyes; Monkey legs and buzzard eggs and salamander thighs;

Rabbit ears and camel rears and tasty toenail pies;

Stir them all together, it's called the cook's surprise.

I went into the bathroom and stood beside the sink;

I said I'm feeling slightly ill, I think I'd like a drink;

The cook he said, "I've just the thing, I'll get it in a wink;

It's full of lots of protein, and vitamins I think."

*

Chocolate Chip Cookies

They're made out of sugar and butter and flour

You put 'em in the oven about a quarter hour,

But the thing that gives them their magic power

Is the chocolate chips inside.

*Chorus: Chocolate chip cookies, you gotta have more

You can bake 'em in the oven, or buy 'em at the store

But whatever you do, have 'em ready at my door

And I'll love ya till I die.

You can't eat one, you can't eat two

Once you start chewing, there's nothing to do

But clean your plate, and eat the crumbs too

Then go and find some more

*

Now when I die, I don't want wings

A golden halo or a harp that sings

Give me a book, a fire, and someone that brings me

Chocolate chip cookies all day; with milk please

*

The Circle Game

Yesterday a child came out to wander

Caught a dragonfly insider a jar

Fearful when the skies are full of thunder

And tearful at the falling of a star.

*Chorus: And the seasons, they go round and round

And the painted ponies go up and down.

We're captives on the carousel of time.

We can't return, we can only look behind from where we came

And go round and round and round in the circle game.

Now the child's grown ten times round the seasons

Skated over ten clear frozen streams

Words like "when you're older" must appease her

And promises of someday make her dream.

*

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now

Cartwheels turn to car wheels through the town

And they tell her "take your time, it won't be long now

Before you drag your feet to slow the circle down."

*

Now the child of yesterday's grown twenty

Although some dreams are lost, some grandeurs coming true

There'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty

Before the last revolving year is through.

*

Cockles and Mussels

In Dublin's fair city, where the girls are so pretty,

I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,

As she pushed her wheel barrow,

Through streets broad and narrow,

Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive, Oh!

*Chorus: Alive, alive, Oh!

Alive, alive, Oh!

Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive, Oh!

She was a fishmonger, but it sure was no wonder,

For so were her father and mother before,

And they each pushed their wheel barrow,

Through streets broad and narrow,

Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive, Oh!

*

She died of a fever, and no one could save her,

And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone;

Her ghost wheels her barrow,

Through streets broad and narrow,

Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive, Oh!

Coming of the Frogs

(Tune: Battle Hymn of the Republic)

Mine eyes have seen the horror of the coming of the frogs,

They are sneaking through the swamps, they are lurking under logs

You can hear their mournful croaking through the early morning fog,

The frogs keep hopping on.

*Chorus: Ribbit, Ribbit, Ribbit, Croak, Croak,

Ribbit, Ribbit, Ribbit, Croak, Croak,

Ribbit, Ribbit, Ribbit, Croak, Croak,

The frogs keep hopping on.

The frogs have grown in number and their croaking fills the air,

There is no place to escape to cos' the frogs are everywhere,

They've eaten all the flies now they're as hungry as a bear,

The frogs keep hopping on.

*

I used to like the bullfrogs, like to feel they're slimy skin,

Like to put them in my teachers desk and take them home

again.

Now they're knocking at the front door, I can't let those frogs come in,

The frogs keep hopping on.

*

They hopped into the living room and headed down the hall,

They have trapped me in a corner and my back's against the wall,

And when I open up my mouth to give a desperate call,

This is all that's heard:

*

Commercial Mix-Up

(Tune: Farmer in the Dell)

Last night I watched TV.

I saw my favorite show

I heard this strange commercial

I can't believe it's so.

Feed your dog Chiffon,

Comet cures a cold

Use SOS pads on your face

To keep from looking old.

Mop your floor with Crest.

Use Crisco on your tile.

Clean your teeth with Borateem,

It leaves a shining smile.

For headaches take some Certs,

Use Tide to clean your face.

And do shampoo with Elmer's Glue

It holds your hair in place.

Perhaps I am confused.

I might not have it right.

But one things that I'm certain of. . .

I'll watch TV. tonight!

Counselors

(Tune: barges)

Out of my tent flap looking in the night

I can see the leaders, boy, what a sight!

Curlers in their hair and cold cream on their face

They look like something from outer space

Counselors, I would like to be with you

I would like to have some privileges too

Counselors, have you cookies in your hold?

Do you share with campers brave and bold.

Out of my tent flap looking in the night

I can see the counselors having a fight

Silently goes the pillow throw the air

And here comes someone’s underwear

Counselors, I don’t want to be with you

I would probably end up black and blue

Counselors, have you cookies in your hold?

Do you share with Scouts good as gold

Crabs Walk Sideways

Herman met Sally on the beach one night,

The sea was calm and the starfish were bright.

She looked at him and he looked at her it was true love at first sight.

Well, Herman told his folks about the girl that he found,

They said,"Herman there must be other girls around.

'Cause crabs walk sideways, lobsters walk straight and

We won't let you take her for your mate."

*Chorus: Crabs walk sideways and lobsters walk straight,

And you can't take a crab for your mate.

Well, Herman told his Sally and it broke her heart

She loved that lobster right from the start

He took her in his claws and said "I'll always be yours,

But still, dear, we'll have to part."

*

She said, "Let me talk to your mom and dad,

I'll show them crabs really aren't that bad."

But they turned her away"

What will the neighbors say.

And they laughed at the funny walk she had.

*

Then one day on the sandbar what did Herman see,

But his little ol' Sally walking straight as can be.

He said, "Sweetheart now they'll take you in the family!"

She said, "Don't you sweetheart me! Hic!"

Darling

Darling, won't you wait,

Won't you wait, won't you wait,

For I must go far away?

Darling, won't you wait,

Won't you wait, won't you wait,

'Till I come back home to stay?

Should another love come along,

Come along, come along,

Simply say that you're not free

Send them on their way,

On them way, on their way,

Darling, won't you wait for me?

Oh my love, some of us they say are bound to die,

Oh, my love, how it breaks my heart to say goodbye

Oh, my love, when I'm far away I miss you so,

Hold me close, kiss me once again before I go.

Desperado

There was a desperado from the wild and woolly west,

He rode into Chicago just to give the west a rest.

He wore a big sombrero and two pistols at his side

And everywhere he went he gave his war hoot.

*Chorus: Oh what a big, bold, man was this desperado.

From Cripple Creek clear down in Colorado.

And he horsed around like a big tornado.

And everywhere he went he gave his war hoot.

He went to Cooney Island just to take in all the sights.

He saw the hoochie coochies and the girls all dressed in tights.

It got him so excited that he shot out all the lights.

And everywhere he went he gave his war hoot.

*

The gay desperado was a strollin' down the street.

A big, old fat policeman came a stompin' down the street

He took him by the collar and he took him by the seat.

And put him where he couldn't give his war hoot.

Dona

On a wagon, bound for market, there's a calf with a mournful eye,

High above him flies a swallow, winging swiftly through the sky,

*Chorus:

How the winds are laughing, they laugh with all their might,

laugh and laugh the whole day through and half the summers night,

Dona, Dona, dona, dona, dona, dona, dona, don- Dona, dona, dona, dona, dona, dona, dona, don-

Stop complaining, said the farmer, who told you a calf to be?

Why don't you have wings to fly with, like the swallow so proud

and free?

*

Calves are easily bound and slaughtered, never knowing the reason why, But whoever treasures freedom, like the swallow has learned to fly

*

Doughnut Shop

Oh I walked around the corner and I walked around the block

And I walked right into a doughnut shop

I picked up a doughnut and I shook of the grease

And I handed the lady a five cent piece.

We-e-e-ll she looked at the nickel and she looked at me

And she said "Kind sir would you pardon me!"

"There's a hole in the nickel and it goes right through."

I said "Aye there's a hole in the doughnut too."

"Thanks for the doughnut. Good day!"

Back to my home

Wearing a tie?"

Back to my home

When you couldn't make a rhyme?"

Down by the bay.

Down by the Station

This is for the people who never rode the train

Whether from California or even up in Maine

Makes no difference if you’re two or two hundred and two

You’ll det a treat when you order a seat on the old choo choo

Down by the station early in the morning

See the little puffer bellies all in a row

See the station master turn the little handle

Chug, chug, toot, toot, off we go

Do Your Ears Hang Low

Do your ears hang low?

Do they wobble to and fro?

Can you tie them in a knot?

Can you tie them in a bow?

Can you throw them over your shoulder

Like a continental soldier?

Do your ears hang low?

Do your ears flip-flop?

Can you use them for a mop?

Are they stringy at the bottom?

Are they curly at the top?

Can you use them for a swatter?

Can you use them for a blotter?

Do your ears flip-flop?

Do your ears hang high?

Do they reach up to the sky?

Do they droop when they're wet?

Do they stiffen when they're dry?

Can you semaphore your neighbor

With a minimum of labor?

Do your ears hang high?

Do your ears hang wide?

Do they flap from side to side?

Do they wave in the breeze

From the slightest little sneeze?

Can you soar above the nation

With a feeling of elation?

Do your ears hang wide?

Do your ears fall off

When you give a great big cough?

Do they lie there on the ground

Or bounce around at every sound?

Can you stick them in your pocket,

Just like little Davey Crocket?

Do your ears fall off

The Duck Rover

I'm an old duck rover from out in Montana,

I round up them duckies and drive them along,

To a flooded coral where we bulldog and brand 'em,

Mosey on home just a'singing this song.

*Chorus:

Singin': quack, quack, yippee-ay, and quack, quack, yippee-oh,

Get along little duckies, get along real slow.

Well, it's dirty and smelly, and it really don't pay,

But I'll be a duck girl 'til the end of my days.

On Saturday night I ride into town,

On a short-legged pony with my hat pulled way down.

But the boys don't like duck girls and I can't figure why.

No cowgirl could be more romantic than I.

*

There's danger, adventure, and romance I know,

From a wild duck stampeed to a duck rodeo.

But there's loneliness too and it cuts to the bone.

Whey you smell like duck feathers you're always alone.

An Early Worm Got Out of Bed

An early worm got out of bed

And murmured “I feel mean!

I’ll put my darkest glasses on,

And paint myself bright green.”

“I’ll dress up in my wildest wig,

The one with purple bangs,

I’ll also wear a pair of horns,

And artificial fangs.”

That early worm poked up his head,

Which looked a perfect fright,

An early bird observed the worm

And lost its appetite.

Ever Been Fishin’

Have you ever been fishin'

On a bright and sunny day?

Have you ever seen a fish

Swim in and out the bay

With his hands in his pockets

And his pockets in his pants?

Have you ever seen a fish

Do the huchi-cuchi dance.

Well, I have been a-fishin'

On a bright and sunny day

And I have seen a fish

Swim in and out the bay

With his hands in his pockets

And his pockets in his pants

But I've never seen a fish

Do the huchi-cuchi dance.

The moon in the heavens, The stars that shine,

A place where people gather to make friends of all kinds,

A place where mens troubles are always left behind.

So, give me the light of the campfire so warm and bright,

And give me some friends to sing with, I'll be here all night.

Love is for those who find it, I've found mine right here,

Forever Young

May God bless and keep you always

May your wishes all come true

May you always do for others

And let others do for you,

May you build a ladder to the stars,

And climb on every rung,

May you stay forever young, May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,

May you grow up to be true,

May you always know the truth,

And see the lights surrounding you,

May you always be courageous,

Stand upright and be strong,

May you stay forever young, Forever young,

May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,

May your feet always be swift,

May you have a strong foundation,

When the wind of changes shift,

May your heart always be joyful,

May your song always be sung,

May you stay forever young, May you stay forever young.

Grandfather's Clock

My grandfather's clock was too large for the shelf,

So it stood ninety years on the floor.

It was taller by half than the old man himself,

Though it weighed not a pennyweight more.

It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born,

And was always his treasure and pride;

But it stopped, short, never to go again

When the old man died.

*Chorus: Ninety years without slumbering, tick, tock, tick, tock,

His life seconds numbering, tick, tock, tick, tock,

It stopped, short, never to go again, when the old man died.

In watching its pendulum swing to and fro,

Many hours had he spent as a boy;

And in childhood and manhood the clock seemed to know

And to share both his grief and his joy.

For it struck twenty-four when he entered at the door

With a blooming and beautiful bride.

But it stopped, short, never to go again

When the old man died.

*

My grandfather said that of those he could hire,

Not a servant so faithful he found;

For it wasted no time, and had but one desire:

At the close of each week to be wound.

And it kept in its place, not a frown upon its face,

And its hands never hung by its side.

But it stopped, short, never to go again

*

When the old man died.

It rang in alarm in the dead of the night,

An alarm that for years had been dumb.

And we knew that his spirit was plumbing its flight,

That his hour of departure had come.

Still the clock kept the time, with a soft and muffled chime,

As we silently stood by his side

But it stopped, short, never to go again

When the old man died.

But he couldn't find that great big grizzly bear,

He couldn't find that great big grizzly bear.

So my mama's not a-scared of that grizzly bear,

My mama's not a-scared of that grizzly bear.

That great big grizzly, grizzly bear,

That great big grizzly, grizzly bear.

Herman the Worm

Sittin' on my fencepost, chewing my bubblegum

Highland Goat

This is a repeat after me song sort of

My highland goat

Was feeling fine

Ate six red shirts

From off the line

His master Jack

Gave him a whack

And tied him to

The railroad track

The whistle blew

The train drew nigh

My highland goat

Was doomed to die

He gave a groan

Of awful pain

Coughed up the shirts

And flagged down the train

(Sing the song again but extend the last syllable of each line

with out repeating)

Hot/Dog

When you are hot, you are very, very hot

And when you are not, you are not hot, hot

Loving you is as easy as falling off a log

A cat’ll love a cat and dog’ll love a dog, dog

House at Pooh Corner

Christopher Robin and I walked along

Under branches lit up by the moon

Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore

As our days disappeared all too soon

But I've wandered much further today than I should

And I can't seem to find my way back to the Wood

* Chorus: So help me if you can

I've got to get Back to the House

At Pooh Corner by one

You'd be surprised there's so much to be done

Count all the bees in the hive

Chase all the clouds from the sky

Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

Winnie the Pooh doesn't know what to do

Got a honey jar stuck on his nose

He came to me asking help and advice

And from here no one knows where he goes

So I sent him to ask of the Owl if he's there

How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear

*

It's hard to explain how a few precious things

Seem to follow throughout all our lives

After all's said and done I was watching my son

Sleeping there with my bear by his side

So I tucked him in, I kissed him and as I was going

I swear that old bear whispered,"Boy, welcome home"

Believe me if you can I've finally come

Back to the House at Pooh Corner by one

What do you know there's so much to be done

Count all the bees in the hive

Chase all the clouds from the sky

Back to the days of Christopher Robin

Back to the ways of Christopher Robin

The Human Touch

It’s the human touch in this world that counts

the touch of your hand in mine

It means far more to the fainting heart

Then shelter, bread, or wine

For shelter’s gone when the night is over

And bread lasts only a day

But the touch of your hand and the sound of your voice

Live on in my soul always

May the road rise up to greet you

May the wind be always at your back

May the sunshine warm upon your face

The rain fall soft on the fields

And until we meet again someday

May god hold you in the palm of his hand

May the memories that we have shared

Linger on and on

It’s the human touch in this world that counts

the touch of your hand in mine

It means far more to the fainting heart

Then shelter, bread, or wine

I’d Like to Give you Sunshine

I’d like to give you sunshine

On a rainy day in May

A candle when your life is dark

A shoulder when tears come your way

I’d like to give a smile to you

On days that seem so long

But all that I can do right now

Is give to you my song

I’ve tried to keep my distance

Tried not to change a thing

But I’ve run myself in circles

And find that I am stumbling

You always want to learn

Reaching out, just being you

If I could give you anything

I’d give my love to you

Summer skies could darken

And rainbows leave the sky

Mountain tops could tumble

And I’m sure that I would cry

Knowing you brings sunshine

Spreads colors warm and strong

Beautifies the mountain tops

And days are never long

Time will pass and days go by

With you I’ll laugh and I’ll cry

Just keep in mind

How much I care

Don’t ever say good bye

I’d like to give you sunshine

On a rainy day in May

A candle when your life is dark

A shoulder when tears come your way

I’d like to give a smile to you

On days that seem so long

But all that I can do right now

Is give to you my song

I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing

I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.

I'd like to hold it in my arms and keep it company.

I'd like to build the world a home and furnish it with love,

Grow apple trees and honey bees and snow white turtle doves.

I'd like to see the world for once all standing hand in hand,

And hear them echo through the hills for peace throughout the land.

That's the song that I hear, let the world sing today.

A song of peace that echos on and never goes away.

If You're Happy and You Know It:

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!

If you're happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it,

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!

If you're happy and you know it, stamp your feet!

If you're happy and you know it, stamp your feet!

If you're happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it,

If you're happy and you know it, stamp your feet!

If you're happy and you know it, shout hooray!

If you're happy and you know it, shout hooray!

If you're happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it,

If you're happy and you know it, shout hooray!

If you're happy and you know it, do all three!

If you're happy and you know it, do all three!

If you're happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it,

If you're happy and you know it, do all three!

I Have a Daisy on My Toe

I have a daisy on my toe.

It is not real. It does not grow.

It's just a tattoo of a flower,

So I'll look neat taking a shower.

It's on the second toe of my left foot,

A stem and flower, but there's no root---

because that wouldn't look good !

It's just a daisy on my toe.

My left foot loves my right foot so !

I Knew an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly

I knew an old lady who swallowed a fly

But I don't know why she swallowed the fly, Perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a spider

That wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

She swallowed a spider to catch the Fly

But I don't know why she swallowed the fly, Perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a Bird

How absurd, to swallow a bird

She swallowed a bird to catch the spider

That wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly

But I don't know why she swallowed the, fly Perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a cat

Imagine that, she swallowed a cat

She swallowed the cat to catch the bird

She swallowed a bird to catch the spider

That wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly

But I don't know why she swallowed the, fly Perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a dog

What a hog, to swallow a dog

She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,

She swallowed the cat to catch the bird

She swallowed a bird to catch the spider

That wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly

But I don't know why she swallowed the, fly Perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a goat

She opened her throat and swallowed the goat

She swallowed the goat to catch the dog,

She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,

She swallowed the cat to catch the bird

She swallowed a bird to catch the spider

That wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly

But I don't know why she swallowed the, fly Perhaps she'll die

I knew an old lady who swallowed a cow

I don't know how she swallowed the cow

She swallowed a bird to catch the spider

That wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

I’m a Girl Scout

*Chorus: I'm a Girl Scout

My hair is sea weed

And my ears are made of leather

And they flop in rainy weather

I'm a hemlock

I'm tough as a "pine-nock"

I'm a slow and slinky Girl Scout form the South

Hi, ya'll

*

I'm a hootin' tootin' Girl Scout from the West

Bang-bang

*

I'm a prim and proper Girl Scout from the East

Charmed, I'm sure

*

I'm a guy-grabbing Girl Scout from the North

Come here, fellas

I'm a Nut:

I'm a little acorn small and round,

Lying on the cold , cold ground,

Somebody steps on me,

That is why I'm flat you see,

*chorus: I'm a nut (snap, snap)

I'm a nut (snap, snap)

I’m a nut, I’m a nut (snap, snap)

Called myself on the telephone,

Just to see if I was home,

Asked myself out on a date,

Gotta be ready by half past eight!

*

Took myself to the movie grand,

Just to hold my little hand,

Wrapped my arms around my waist,

I got fresh I slapped my face!

*

I can sing and I can dance

I got ruffles on my opps

Boys take another guess

I’ve got ruffles on my dress

*

Coca-cola went to town

Pepsi cola shot him down

Dr. Pepper fixed him up

Now we all drink 7UP

7UP got the flu

Now we all drink Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew went to jail

Now we all drink Ginger Ale

*

I’m a Rambler, I’m a Gambler

*Chorus: I’m a rambler I’m a gambler

I’m a long way from home

And if you don’t like me then, then leave me alone

I’ll eat when I’m hungry, I’ll drink when I’m dry

And if the moonshine don’t kill me, I’ll till I die

I’ve been a moonshiner for many a year

I’ve spent all my money on Whiskey and beer

I’ll go to my hollow and set up my stool

I’d bid you a gallon for a ten dollar bill

*

Dear monshine oh moonshine oh how I love you

You killed my poor father but dare you kill me

Bless all the moonshiners and bless all the moonshine

For his breath smells as good as dew on the line

I’m in Love with a Big Blue Frog

I'm in love with a big blue frog

A big blue frog loves me

It's not as bad as it appears

He wears glasses and he's six foot three

Well I'm not worried about our kids

I know they'll turn out great

They'll be great lookers cause they'll have my face

Great swimmers cause they'll have his feet

I'm in love with a big blue frog

A big blue frog loves me

It's not as bad as it appears

He's got rhythm and a Ph.D.

Well I know we can make things work

He's got good family sense

His mother was a frog from Philadelphia

His Daddy an enchanted Prince

The neighbors are against us and its clear to me

And I’ll make clear to you

They think the property value will go right down

If the family next door is blue

I'm in love with a big blue frog

A big blue frog loves me

I've got his initials on my chest

It says P.H.R.O.G.

That's frog to me P.H.R.O.G.

Irish Lullaby

Over in Killarney

Many years ago,

Me Mither sang a song to me

In tones so sweet and low.

Just a simple little ditty,

In her good ould Irish way,

And l'd give the world if she could sing

That song to me this day.

"Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry!

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby."

Oft in dreams I wander

To that cot again,

I feel her arms a-huggin' me

As when she held me then.

And I hear her voice a -hummin'

To me as in days of yore,

When she used to rock me fast asleep

Outside the cabin door.

"Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry!

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby."

Irish Sea

When I was one sucked my thumb

* Chorus: The day I went to sea

I climbed aboard a pirate ship and the captain said to me

We’re going this way that way forward and backward

Over the Irish sea

Some bubblegum to warm my tum

And that’s the life for me

When I was two I buckled my shoe

*

When I was three I climbed a tree

*

When I was four I knocked on the door

*

When I was five I did a dive

*

When I was six I picked up sticks

*

When I was seven I went to heaven

*

When I was eight I opened the gate

*

When I was nine I found a dime

*

When I was ten I built a den

*

It Ain’t Gonna Rain No More

*Chorus: It ain’t gonna rain no more, no more

It ain’t gonna rain no more

So how in the heck can I wah my neck

If it ain’t rain no more

A peanut sat on a railroad track

It’s heart was all a flutter

Along came the 4:15

Toot, toot, peanut butter

*

A hen and a chicken went for a walk

Just to stretch their legs

A motor car came round the bend

TOOT, TOOT, ham and eggs

*

Oh! The night was dark and dreary

The air was full of sleet

The old man stood out in the storm

His shoes were full of feet

*

An old man lay by a sewer

And by the sewer he died

Now, at the coroner’s request

They called it sewer-side

*

A golf ball sailin’ through the air

Whizzed by a man a hummin’

He heard a caddy hollar “Fore!”

An’ we thought three more were comin’

*

My father built a chimney

He built up so high

He had to take it down each night

To let the moon go by

Itsy Bitsy’s Birthday

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the birthday cake

Isty bitsy quickly learned he’d made a big mastake

He climbed up on the candle before the cake was cut

And the itsy bitsy spider, he burned his little butt!

Jetplane

All my bags are packed I’m ready to go

I’m standing here outside your door

I hate to wake you up to say good bye

But the dawn is breaking it’s early morn

The taxi’s waiting he’s blowing his horn

Already I’m so lonesome I could cry

*Chorus: So kiss me and smile for me

Tell me that you’ll wait for me

Hold me like you’ll never let me go

Cause I’m leaving on a jet plane

Don’t know when I’ll be back again

Oh babe I hate to go

There’s so many times I’ve let you down

So many times I’ve played around

I tell you now that they don’t mean a thing

Everyplace I go I think of you

Every song I sing I sing for you

When I come back I’ll wear your wedding ring

*

Now the time has come to leave you

One more time let me kiss you

Close your eyes and I’ll be on my way

Dream about the days to come

When I won’t have to leave alone

About the time that I won’t have to say

The Knight Song

When the knight won his spurs, in the stories of old

He was gentle and brave, he was gallant and bold

With a shield on his arm, and a lance in his hand

For god and for valor, he rode through the land

No charger have I, no sword by my side

Yet still to adventure and battle I ride

For back into story land giants have fled

And the knights are no more and the dragons are dead

Let faith be my shield, let joy be my stead

Against the dragons of anger and the ogres of greed

And let me set free with the sword of my youth

From the castle of darkness, to the palace of truth

Kookaburra

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,

Merry, merry king of the bush is he,

Laugh kookaburra, laugh kookaburra

Gay your life must be, ha, ha ,ha!

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree

Eating all gumdrops he can see

Stop kookaburra, stop kookaburra,

Save some there for me, ha, ha, ha!

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree

Counting all the monkeys he can see

Stop kookaburra, stop kookaburra

That’s not a monkey, that’s me ha, ha ,ha!

Late One Night

Late one night, when we were all in bed

Old Lady Leary lit a lantern in the shed

And when the cow kicked it over,

She winked her eye and said,

"There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight."

Fire! Fire! Fire!

One night late, when bed we all were in

Old Leary Lady lit a shed the lantern in

And when the kick cowed it over,

She eyed her wink and said,

"There'll be a time hot in the old town tonight."

I-fer! I-fer! I-fer!

Lean On Me

Sometimes, in our lives we all have pain,

We all have sorrow

But, if we are wise

We know that there's always tomorrow

* Chorus: Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend,

I'll help you carry on

For, it won't be long

Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride

If I have things you need to borrow

For no one can fill those of your needs

That you won't let show

*

If there is a load you have to bear,

That you can't carry

I'm right up the road

I'll share your load

If you just call me

So just call on me brother when you need a hand

We all need somebody to lean on

I just might have a problem that you'll understand

We all need somebody to lean on

*

Lean on me…

Lemon Drops

If all of the raindrops

Were lemon drops and gumdrops

Oh what a rain it would be

I’d stand outside with my mouth open wide

Going ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

If all of the snowflakes were frosted covered cornflakes

Oh what a rain it would be

I’d stand outside with my mouth open wide

Going ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

If all of the sleets were vegetables and meats

Oh what a rain it would be

I’d stand outside with my mouth shut tight

Going uh uh uh uh uh uh uh

Little Canoe

Just a boy and a girl in a little canoe

With the moon shining all around

She paddle to and fro

You couldn’t even hear a sound

So they talked and they talked till the moon grew dim

He said “you better kiss me or get out and swim.

So whatcha gonna do in a little canoe

With the moon shining all a-

Girl paddling all a-

Boy swim all around?

Little Duck

Oh isn’t it a bit of luck that I was born a baby duck

With yellow socks and yellow shoes

I can go wherever I choose

Quack quack quack quack quack

Quack quack quack quack quack

The Little Green Frog

Glump went the little green frog one day

Glump went the little green frog

Glump went the little green frog one day

And his eyes went glump glump too

Honk honk went the big red truck one day

Squish squash went the little green frog

And his eyes don’t go glump glump

Cause were licked up by a dog

Woof woof!

The Littlest Worm

This is a repeat after me song sort of

The littlest worm

I ever saw

Was stuck inside

My soda straw!

The littlest worm, I ever saw, Was stuck inside, My soda straw!

He said to me

Don't take a sip

For if you do

I'll surely flip!

He said to me, Don't take a sip, For if you do, I'll surely flip! I took a sip

And he went down

All through my pipes

He surely drowned!

I took a sip, And he went down, All through my pipes, He surely drowned!

He was my pal,

He was my friend

But now he's gone

And that's the end!

He was my pal, He was my friend, But now he's gone, And that's the end!

Now don't you fret

Now don't you fear

That little worm

Had scuba gear

Now don't you fret, Now don't you fear, That little worm, Had scuba gear

Little Things

I believe in little things

That you can hardly see

Like honeycomb and spider webs And starfish in the sea.

I believe in little things

Like icy drops of rain

That melt into the morning mist

When winds are warm again.

I believe in little things

Like colors in the sky

And noticing

The waves roll in

And how the flowers die

Knowing they’ll be back again

Whenever it’s July.

I believe in little things

Like you and me,

And just how big

Little things can be

Lollipop Song

Oh I’d rather suck on a lemon drop

Then try my luck with a lollipop

Cause a lollipop I always drop

And it gets all over icky

Oh it makes me sick the way it sticks

And it gets all over my hair and icky

Well a jelly bean is always clean

With a lollipop all icky

I’ve tried and tried but still I can’t find

A lollipop (pop) that’s halfway refined

So I’d rather suck on a lemon drop

Then try my luck with a lollipop

Cause a lollipop I always drop

And it gets all over icky

icky icky icky icky bleugh!

Magdalena Tagalena

*Chorus: Oh, Magdalena tagalena, wocha-tocha, wocha-tocha, wocha-tocha-mocha was her name

She had two hairs on the top of her head

One was alive and other one dead

She had two eyes in the middle of her head

One was green and the other one was red

*

She had a nose as long as a hose

It curled at the end and was red like a rose

She had two teeth in the middle of her mouth

One pointed north and the other pointed south

*

She had two feet as flat as a mat

No one knew how she got around like that

One day a ten-ton truck ran over poor Magdalena

And the poor guy had to get a new machine

*

Magic

When I was young I thought the stars

Were made for wishing on

And every hole deep in a tree

Would hide a leprechaun

Old houses all had secret rooms

If one could find the key

I do believe in magic, I believe

*Chorus: Magic is the sun

That makes the rainbow out of rain

And magic keeps the dream alive

To try and try again

Magic is the love that stays

When good friends have to leave

I do believe in magic, I believe

Growing up, a grown-up said

Someday I’d awake to find

That magic was childhood game

I’d have to leave behind

Likes clothes that I’d outgrown

Or toys that I’d ignore

I’d not believe in magic anymore

*

When I grew up I woke one day

And much to my surprise

Magic did not fade away

It took a new disguise

A child, a game, a smile, a song

The courage to stand tall

I do believe in magic after all

I do believe in magic-

Love’s the greatest magic

I do believe in magic, I believe

Make New Friends

Make new friends

But keep the old,

One is silver,

And the other is gold

A circle’s round

It has no end

That’s how long,

I want to be your friend

I have a hand

You have another

Put them together

And we have each other.

Marblehead Morning

It’s a Marblehead morning colored cobblestone gray

Coming on strong to a New England day

The harbors are forests of tall sailing trees

Getting ready to sail on a mid-morning breeze

(Chorus 1)

Fair is my captain, I long to tell him so

Haul away, heave away, he’s going to sail away

Good times are passing by, high tide is running high

Haul away, heave away, he’s going to leave today

For three hundred years of going to sea

The Marblehead men left the woman to keep

A close watch upon the fine line between

The blue of the sky and the green of the sea

(Chorus 2)

Farewell, good Jonell

How I wish I could stay

Good-bye, first love of mine

Look for my sail on the first day of may

Out ancestors sailed on a day such as this

Widows watch curtains hung in the gray morning mist

While up on the commons a church chime would ring

And down on the landing a young maiden sings

(group splits ½ sing chorus and other ½ sing chorus 2)

It’s a marblehead morning colored cobblestone gray

As long as I’m gone, I’ll remember today

Me and My Dinosaur

One day while the weather was cold and gray

I wished somebody’d come over and play

I heard a knock and I opened the door

And there stood the loveliest big dinosaur

*Chorus: Me and my dinosaur

I never had such a friend before

As big as a house, twenty times and a half

And fifty times taller then any giraffe

Legs as long as a sequioa tree

Teeth as big as piano keys

No two people are buddies more

Then me and my dinosaur

We hop-scotch to Africa, as quick as a breeze

While leap-frogging over the coconut trees

And when we got thirsty mile after mile

In one big gulp, we just drank up the Nile

*

We went to town and then we went to school

My dinosaur, gee he is really cool

I climbed all the way from his tail to his cheek

Without stopping once it took nearly a week

*

Moon on the Meadow

Moon on the meadow, bugs in our ears

Smoke in our eyes, wet wood and tears

On up the meadow, water somewhere

We were the only ones there

Wild horse to slushy, dry lake the peak

Finding the love, everyone seeks

Hiking to rainbows, sunsets and stars

Just finding out who we are

We will return here, one lucky day

Our hearts will guide us, they know the way

People in cities don’t understand

Falling in love with the land

Moon on the meadow, bugs in our ears

Smoke in our eyes, wet wood and tears

On up the meadow, water somewhere

With you my friend I am there

My Dream Came True

(Tune: I’ve been working on the railroad)

I was dreaming of a campfire, burning clear and bright

Sparkling stars were all above me, upon a summer’s night

I was dreaming that my best friends all were dreaming too

When I woke and looked around me, I saw my dream came true

Three corners has my hat

Once upon a Time in Nursery Rhyme

Once upon a time in a nursery rhyme, there were three bears.

Cha- cha-cha

One was a papa bear, one was a momma bear, and one was a wee-bear.

They all went a walkin' in the deep woods a talkin

When along came the girl, with the long golden hair

She knocked on the door, no one was there.

In came those three bears,

(deep voice)

”Someone's been eating my porridge” said the papa bear, said the papa bear.

(high pitched voice)

”Someone's been eating my porridge” said the mamma bear, said

the mamma bear

”Hey bob a rebear, said the little wee-bear, ”SOMEONE HAS BROKEN MY CHAIR!” (CLAP!)

“Somone's been sitting in my chair” said the papa bear, said the

papa bear.

”Someone's been sitting in my chair” said the mamma bear, said

the mamma bear.

”Hey Bob a rebear,” said the little wee-bear, “SOMEONE HAS BROKEN MY CHAIR!” (CLAP!)

“Someone's been sleeping in my bed” said the papa bear, said the papa bear.

“Someone's been sleeping in my bed” said the mamma bear, said

the mamma bear.

”Hey Bob a rebear,” said the little wee-bear, “SOMEONE HAS BROKEN MY CHAIR!” (CLAP!)

Well Goldilocks woke up, and broke up the story, and beat it out of there. (stop clapping and wave with each bye)

”Bye, Bye, Bye” said the papa bear.

”Bye, Bye, Bye” said the mamma bear.

”Hey Bob a rebear,” said the little wee-bear,

and so goes the story of the three little bears! Yeah!

Once a Girl Scout

Once a Girl Scout went to camp, went camp

Went to camp without a lamp, without a lamp

Saw a spider sitting in her bed

And this is what the Girl Scout said, Girl Scout said

Spider, spider, go away, go away

You are not allowed to stay, allowed to stay

Remember what the counselors said, counselors said

No two bodies in one bed, in one bed

Once a boy Scout went to camp, went camp

Went to camp without a lamp, without a lamp

Saw a spider sitting on his bed

And this is what the Boy Scout said, Boy Scout said

AAAAHHHHH!

One Bottle of Pop

(can be sung in a three way round each taking a part of the song)

One bottle of pop, two bottles of pop

Three bottles of pop, four bottles of pop

Five bottles of pop, six bottles of pop

Seven bottles of pop, POP!

Fish and chips and vinegar,

Vinegar, vinegar

Fish and chips and vinegar

Pepper, pepper, pepper, salt

Don’t throw your muck in my back yard

My backyard, my backyard

Don’t throw your muck in my backyard

My backyard’s full!

One Day

(sort of a repeat after me song)

One day

Walking in the sun

We laughed

Friendship has begun

Same day

Talking in the sun

Two there

Becoming one

Time pass

Friends part

Friendship lasts

Bond between hearts

Two together

Two alone

Love each other

Find our way home

One day

Forever long

Build a bond

Forever strong

One Tin Soldier

Listin’ children to a story that was written long ago

‘bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley far below

On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone

And the valley people swore they’d have it for their very own

*Chorus: So go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend

Do it in the name of heaven you can justify it in the end

There won’t be any trumpets blowing come the judgement day

For the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away

So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill

Asking for the buried treasure tons of gold for which they killed

Came an answer from the mountain, with our brothers we will share

All the secrets of our mountain, all the treasures buried there

*

So the valley cried in anger, mount your horses draw your swords

And they killed the mountain people so they won their just reward

Now they stood beside the treasure, on the mountain dark and red

Turned the stone and looked beneath peace on earth was all it said

*

On My Honor

People don't need to know my name

If I've done any harm then I'm to blame

If I've helped another then I've helped me

If I've opened up my eyes to see

*Chorus: On my honor, I will try

There's a duty to be done and I say aye

There's a reason here for a reason above

My honor is to try, and my duty is to love

I've tucked away a song or two

If you're feeling low, there's one for you

If you need a friend then I will come

And there's many more where I come from

*

Come with me where the fire burns bright

You can even see better by a candle's light

You can find more meaning in a campfire's glow

Than you'll ever find in a year or so.

*

We've made a promise to always keep

And to sing Day is Done before we sleep

We'll be girl scouts forever and when we're done,

They'll still be a'tryin and a'singin this song

*

On the Loose

*Chorus: On the loose to climb a mountain,

On the loose where I am free.

On the loose to live my life, the way I think my life should be,

For I've only got a moment and a whole world yet to see.

I'll be looking for tomorrow on the loose.

Have you ever seen the sunrise turn the sky completely red,

Have you slept beneath the moon and stars, a pine bough for your bed

Have you sit and talk with friends, through a word was never said

Then you're just like me and you've been on the loose.

*

There's a trail that I'll be hiking just to see where it might go.

Many places yet to visit, many people yet to know,

For in following in my dreams, I will live and I will grow,

On a trail that's waiting out there on the loose.

*

So in search of love and laughter, I'll be traveling cross this land

Never sure of where I'm going, for I haven't got any plan,

So in time when you are ready, come and join me and take my hand,

And together we'll share life out there on the loose.

*

In this world that I am traveling, I will think of you this way.

Remembering your smile, for it seems like yesterday

When we slept beneath the stars, and we dreamed about this day

Now we have come together on the loose.

*

Do the trees in the forest make you sit and think of love?

Does it take you twenty times or more to count the stars above?

For I'm here now and I like it and the hours melt away,

And if I want I'll stay here another day.

*

As I sit and watch the sunset and the daylight softly fades,

I am thinking of tomorrow and the friendships we have made.

I will value them for always and I hope you'll do the same,

And forever we'll explore life on the loose.

*

Now the moon is softly glowing and the stars are twinkling bright

Our laughter and our friendship have cleared this cloudy night

Come and join our flickering campfire, come and sing our happy songs

And together we'll share life out on the loose.

On Top of Spaghetti

On top of spaghetti

All covered with cheese

I lost my poor meatball

When somebody sneezed

It rolled off the table

And onto the floor

And then my poor meatball

Rolled right out the door

It rolled into the garden

And under a bush

And then my poor meatball

Was nothing but mush

The mush was tasty

As tasty as can be

And early next summer

It grew into a tree

The tree was covered

With beautiful moss

It grew lovely meatballs

And tomato sauce

So if you eat spaghetti

All covered with cheese

Hold onto your meatball

And don’t ever sneeze

The Other Day

This is a repeat after me song sort of,

The other day,

I met a bear,

Out in the woods,

A way out there.

The other day I met a bear, out in the woods a way out there.

He looked at me,

I looked at him,

He sized up me,

I sized up him.

He looked at me I looked at him, he sized up me I sized up him,

He said to me,

Why don't you run,

I see you ain't,

Got any gun,

He said to me why don't you run? I see you ain't got any gun.

And so I ran,

Away from there,

But right behind,

Me was that bear.

And so I ran right out of there, but right behind me was that bear.

Ahead of me,

There was a tree,

A great big tree,

Oh, glory me.

Ahead of me there was a tree, a great big tree oh glory me.

The lowest branch,

Was ten feet up,

I'd have to jump,

And trust my luck.

The lowest branch was ten feet up, I'd have to jump and trust my luck.

And so I jumped,

Into the air,

But I missed that branch,

Away up there.

And so I jumped into the air, but I missed that branch away up there.

Now don't you fret,

Now don't you frown,

Cause I caught that branch,

On the way back down.

Now don't you fret now don't you frown, cause I caught that branch on the way back down.

This is the end

There ain’t no more

Until I meet

That bear once more

This is the end there ain’t no more until I meet that bear once more

But I did meet

That bear once more

He was a rug

upon my floor

But I did meet that bear once more he was a rug upon my floor

The moral of,

The story be,

Don't meet a bear,

With out a tree.

The moral of the story be, don't meet a bear without a tree.

Peace I ask of thee, O river, peace, peace, peace.

When I learn to live serenely, cares will cease.

From the hills I gather courage, vision of the day to be,

Strength to lead and faith to follow, all are given unto me.

Peace I ask of thee, O river, peace, peace, peace.

Peanut Butter

*Chorus: Peanut, peanut butter, jelly! Peanut, peanut butter, jelly!

First you take the peanuts and you pick 'em, you pick 'em,

You pick 'em, pick 'em, pick 'em

Then you crush 'em, crush 'em,

You crush 'em, crush 'em, crush 'em

Then you spread 'em, spread 'em,

You spread 'em, spread 'em, spread 'em...

*

Then you take the berries and you pick 'em, you pick 'em,

You pick 'em, pick 'em, pick 'em

Then you crush 'em, crush 'em,

You crush 'em, crush 'em, crush 'em

Then you spread 'em, spread 'em,

You spread 'em, spread 'em, spread 'em...

I jump right in between the sheets with nothing on at all.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, what's it to ya?

Balmy breezes blowin' through ya

With nothing on at all!

The Princess Pat

This is a repeat after me song,

The Princess Pat,

Lived in a tree,

She sailed across,

The seven seas,

She sailed across,

The Channel Two,

And she took with her,

A Rigabamboo.

*Chorus: A Rigabamboo,

Now what is that?

It's something made,

By the Princess Pat,

It's red and gold,

And purple too,

That’s why it's called,

A Rigabamboo.

Now Captain Jack,

Had a mighty fine crew,

He sailed across,

The Channel Two,

But his ship sank,

And yours will too,

If you don't take,

A Rigabamboo.

Now Captain Kirk,

He was no jerk,

And Mr. Spock,

He was no jock,

But their ship flew,

And yours will too,

If you just take,

A Rigabamboo.

Rainbow Connection

Why are there so many songs about rainbows

And what's on the other side?

Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,

And rainbows have nothing to hide.

So we've been told and some choose to believe it

I know they're wrong, wait and see.

Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,

The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered

When wished on the morning star?

Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it,

And look what it's done so far.

What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing

And what do we think we might see?

Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,

The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

All of us under its spell

We know that it's probably magic...

Have you been half asleep? And have you heard voices?

I've heard them calling my name.

Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?

The voice might be one and the same

I've heard it too many times to ignore it

It's something that I'm s'posed to be

Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,

The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

Laa, da daa dee da daa daa,

La laa la la laa dee daa doo...

Rainbow Love

*Chorus: We're a rainbow made of children,

We're an army singing a song.

There's no weapon that can stop us,

Rainbow love is much too strong.

I was raised in Mississippi,

Saying "Yes, Sir" to all the men.

But I found it got me nowhere,

So I'll never say it again.

*

I was taught that black was evil,

I was taught that white was good;

But when you become a rainbow,

All the colors are understood.

*

Rattlin Bog

*chorus: Hey, ho, the rattlin’ bog

The Bog down in the valley-o

Hey, ho, the rattlin’ bog

The Bog down in the valley-o

There was a tree down in the bog,

A rare tree, a rattlin’ tree

The tree in the bog ,

And the bog down in the valley-o

*

Now on that tree there was a branch,

A rare branch, a rattlin’ branch,

And the branch on the tree,

And the tree in the bog,

And the bog down in the valley-o

*

Now on that branch there was a twig,

A rare twig, a rattlin’ twig,

And the twig on the branch,

And the branch on the tree,

And the tree in the bog,

And the bog down in the valley-o

*

Now on that twig there was a nest,

A rare nest, a rattlin’ nest,

And the nest on the twig

And the twig on the branch,

And the branch on the tree,

And the tree in the bog,

And the bog down in the valley-o

*

Now on that nest there was a bird,

A rare bird, a rattlin’ bird,

And the bird in the nest

And the nest on the twig

And the twig on the branch,

And the branch on the tree,

And the tree in the bog,

And the bog down in the valley-o

*

Now on that bird there was a feather,

A rare feather, a rattlin’ feather,

And the feather on the bird

And the bird in the nest

And the nest on the twig

And the twig on the branch,

And the branch on the tree,

And the tree in the bog,

And the bog down in the valley-o

*

Now on that feather there was a bug,

A rare bug, a rattlin’ bug,

And the bug on the feather

And the feather on the bird

And the bird in the nest

And the nest on the twig

And the twig on the branch,

And the branch on the tree,

And the tree in the bog,

Reach

Reach up to the sky

And open up your eyes

And let your troubles fade away, away, away

And dream your dreams today

And melt your cares away

And open up your heart and sing

Live your life for everyday

The old ones gone

So don’t let this one slip away

Just, reach up to the sky

And open up your eyes

And let your troubles fade away, away, away

And dream your dreams today

And melt your cares away

And open up your heart and sing

Remember

Remember the day you came here

Remember when your away

Remember the friends you made here

And don’t forget to come back someday

Remember the blazing campfire

Remember Katahdin too

For you belong to Natarswi

And Natarswi belongs to you

Reuben and Rachel

Reuben, Reuben I’ve been thinking

What a fine world this would be

If the men were all transported

Far beyond the northern sea

Oh, my goodness, gracious, Rachel,

What a strange world this would be

If all the men were all transported

Far Beyond the northern sea.

Reuben, Reuben, I’ve been thinking

What a great life girls would lead

If they had no men about them

None to tease them, none to heed

Rachel, Rachel, I’ve been thinking

Life would be so easy then

What a lovely world this would be

If you’d leave it too the men

Reuben, Reuben, stop your teasing

If you’ve any love for me

I was only just a-fooling

As I thought, of course, you’d see

Rachel, if you’ll not transport us

I will take you for my wife

And I’ll split with you my money

Every pay day of my life!

Rise and Shine

Risseldy, Rosseldy

I married my wife in the month of June

Risseldy, rosseldy, mow,mow,mow

I carried her off in a silver spoon

*Chorus: Risseldy, rosseldy, hey bambasity

Nickety, Nackety, retrical quality,

Willowby, wallowby, mow,mow,mow

She combed her but once a year

With every rake she shed a tear

*

She swept the floor but once a year,

Risseldy, rosseldy, mow, mow, mow,

She swore her broom was much to dear,

*

She churned her butter in Dad's old boot,

Risseldy, rosseldy, mow, mow, mow,

And for a dasher used her foot,

*

The butter came out a grizzly gray,

Risseldy, rosseldy, mow, mow, mow,

The cheese took legs and ran away,

Rocky

Alone until my eighteenth year

We met four springs ago

She was shy and had a fear

Of things she did not know

But we got it on together

In such a super way

We held each other close at night

And traded dreams each day

And she said, "Rocky,

I've never been in love before

Don't know if I can do it

But if you let me lean on you

Take my hand, I might get through it" (through it)

I said, "Baby, oh sweet baby

It's love that sets us free

And God knows if the world should end

Your love is safe with me"

We found an old gray house

And you would not believe the way

We worked at night to fix it up

Took classes in the day

Paintin' walls and sippin' wine

Sleepin' on the floor

With so much love for just two

Soon we found there'd be one more

And she said,

"Rocky, I've never had a baby before

Don't know if I can do it

But if you let me lean on you

Take my hand, I might get through it" (through it)

I said, "Baby, oh sweet baby

It's love that sets us free

And God knows if the world should end

Your love is safe with me"

We had lots of problems then but

We had lots of fun

Like the crazy party

When our baby girl turned one

I was proud and satisfied

Life had so much to give

'Till the day they told me

That she didn't have long to live

She said,

"Rocky, I've never had to die before

Don't know if I can do it

But if you let me lean on you

Take my hand, I might get through it" (through it)

I said, "Baby, oh sweet baby

It's love that sets us free

And God knows if the world should end

Your love is safe with me"

Now it's back to two again

The little girl and I

Who looks so much like her sweet mother

Sometimes it makes me cry

I sleep alone at nights again

I walk alone each day

And sometimes when I'm about to give in

I hear her sweet voice say

"Rocky, you know you've been alone before

You know that you can do it

But if you'd like to lean on me

Take my hand, I'll help you through it" (through it)

I said, "Baby, oh sweet baby

It's love that sets us free

And I told you when the world would end

Your love was safe with me"

Running Bear

*Chorus: Running Bear loves Little White Dove with a love big as the sky.

Running Bear loves Little White Dove with a love that never dies.

On the one side of the river, stood Running Bear, young and brave.

On the other side of the river stood a lovely maiden he did see.

Little White Dove was her name, such a lovely maid was she

But their tribes fought with each other, so their love could never be.

*

Running Bear dove in the water, Little White Dove did the same.

And they swam out to each other through the raging waters they came.

First their eyes met then their lips met, the raging waters brought them down.

Now they'll always be together in that happy hunting ground.

Sarah the Whale

(Tune: Dixie)

In Frisco town there lived a whale

They fed her peanuts by the pail,

And the washtubs and bathtubs,

And sailboats and schooners.

Her name is Sarah and she’s a peach,

But don’t put food within her reach

Or babies, or nursemaids

Or chocolate ice cream sodas.

She loves to smile and when she smiles

You can see her teeth for miles and miles,

And her tonsils and her spare ribs

And things to fierce to mention.

Now what can you do in a case like that,

There’s nothing to do but sit on your har,

Or your toothbrush, or your best friend,

Or anything else that’s helpless

Sipping Cider

This is a repeat after me song sort of

The cutest boy

I ever saw

was sipping cider

through a straw

The cutest boy I ever saw was sipping cider through a straw

I asked him if

He’d show me how

I asked him if he’d show me how to sip my cider through a straw

He said he would

He’d show me how

to sip my ci-

der through a straw

He said he would he’d show me how to sip my cider through a straw

First cheek to cheek

Then jaw to jaw

We sipped our ci-

der through a straw

First cheek to cheek then jaw to jaw we sipped our cider through a straw

Then suddenly

The straw did slip

And we sipped ci-

Then suddenly the straw did slip and we sipped cider lip to lip

Six little ducks that I once knew

Fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones too

But the one little duck with the feather on his back

He led the others with a quack, quack, quack

*Chorus: Quack, quack, quack

Quack, quack, quack

He led the others with a quack, quack, quack

Down to the river they would go

Wibble wobble, wibble wobble, to and fro

But the one little duck with the feather on his back

He led the others with a quack, quack, quack

*

Home from the river they would come

Wibble wobble, wibble wobble, Ho Hum Ho

But the one little duck with the feather on his back

He led the others with a quack, quack, quack

Spider’s Web

*Chorus:There's a web like a spiders web

Made of silver light and shadow

Spun by the moon in my room at night.

It's a web made to catch a dream,

Hold it tight, till I awaken,

As if to telll me that dreamin's all right.

There's is a fountain, down in the valley by the old oak tree.

Near the fountain there is a mission where my love told me.

*

On the evening, I was leaving, my love dreamed of me.

A weeping softly at the fountain, she said, "Return to me."

*

I met a stranger his name was Danger we rode side by side.

Down in Sante Fe I killed a man they say, Danger told me to ride

*

Now if I return they will hang me from that old oak tree.

Down in the valley near the mission where my love told me

Streets of London

Have you seen the old man in the closed down market

kickin' up the papers with his worn out shoes?

In his eyes you see no pride

Hand held loosely by his side

Yesterday's paper tellin' yesterday's news...

So how can you tell me you're lonely

And say for you that the sun don't shine?

Oh, let me take you by the hand

And lead you through the streets of London

I'll show you something to make you change your mind

Have you seen the old girl who walks the streets of London

dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags?

She's no time for talkin' She keeps right on walkin'

Carryin' her home in two carrier bags...

So how can you tell me you're lonely

And say for you that the sun don't shine

Oh, let me take you by the hand

And lead you through the streets of London

I'll show you something

to make you change your mind

In the all night cafe at a quarter past eleven

same old man, sitting there on his own

Looking at the world over the rim of his tea cup

Each tea lasts an hour and he wanders home, alone

So how can you tell me you're lonely

And say for you that the sun don't shine

Oh, let me take you by the hand

And lead you through the streets of London

I'll show you something to make you change your mind

Have you seen the old man outside the seamen's mission

Memory fading with the medal ribbons that he wears

In our winter city, the rain cries a little pity

For one more forgotten hero, and a world that doesn't care

So how can you tell me you're lonely

And say for you that the sun don't shine

Oh, let me take you by the hand

And lead you through the streets of London

I'll show you something to make you change your mind

Super California Surfer

Because I was afraid to surf when I was just a lad

My father took my board away and told me I was bad

But then one day I heard a word that every surfer knows

The longest word you ever heard and this is how it goes

Super California surfer expert on the ocean

Even though the most of them do not wear suntan lotion

If you hit the waves to hard you’ll always cause a motion

Swimming

Swimming, swimming in the swimming-pool

When days are hot when days are cold, in the swimming pool

Breast-stroke, side-stroke, fancy diving too.

Oh wouldn’t it be nice if there was nothing else to do

Taps

Day is done, gone the sun,

From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky,

All is well safely rest, God is nigh.

Fading light, dims the sky,

And a star, lights the sky, gleaming bright,

From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night

Thanks and praise, for our days,

Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky,

As we go, this we know, God is nigh

Tarzan

This is a repeat after me song,

Tarzan,

Was swinging from a rubber band,

Crashed into a frying pan,

Now Tarzan Has a tan.

And I hope it don’t peel

Like a banana

Was flying in an areoplane,

Crashed into a freeway lane,

Now Jane has a pain,

Now Tarzan has a tan.

And I hope it don’t peel

Like a banana

Was dancing to the beata,

Crashed into the streeta,

Now Cheeta is Velveta,

Tell Me Ma

Tell me ma when I go home

The boys won't leave the girls alone

They pulled my hair, they stole my comb

But that's all right till I go home

She is handsome, she is pretty

She is the bell of Belfast city

She is a-courting one, two, three

Please will you tell me who is she

Let the wind and rain and the hail blow high

Let the snow come tumblin' from the sky

She's as sweet as apple pie

She'll get her own lad by and by

When she gets a lad of her own

She won't tell her ma when she comes home

Let them all come as they will

For it's Albert Mooney she loves still

Tell me Why

Tell me why the stars do shine

Tell me why the ivy twines

Tell me why the sky’s are blue

Tell me, Natarswi, just why I love you

Because god made the stars to shine

Because god made the ivy twine

Because god made the sky so blue

God made Natarswi, that’s why I love you

Three Little Angels

3 little angels all dressed in white

Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a kite.

But the kite broke and down they all fell.

Instead of going to Heaven they all went to

2 little angels...1 little angel...

3 little devils all dressed in red

Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a thread.

But the thread broke and down they all fell.

Instead of going to Heaven they all went to

2 little devils...1 little devil...

3 little Martians all dressed in green

Tried to get to Heaven on the end of a string.

But the string broke and down they all fell.

Instead of going to Heaven they all went to

2 little Martians...1 little Martian...

3 little witches all dressed in black

Tried to get to Heaven in a cadillac.

But the cadillac broke and down they all fell.

Instead of going to Heaven they all went to

2 little witches...1 little witch...

3 little Girl Scouts all dressed in green

Tried to get to Heaven in a clean latrine.

But the latrine broke and down they all fell.

Instead of going to Heaven they all went to

2 little Girl Scouts...1 little Girl Scout...

(if desired other verses can be made up and added)

Don’t get excited, don’t get misled

Instead of going to Heaven, they all went to bed!

I’m no Chevy, and I’m no Ford

Honk, honk, rattle, rattle, crash, beep, beep

Honk, honk, rattle, rattle, crash, beep, beep

Honk, honk

Titanic

Oh, they built the ship Titanic, to sail the ocean blue,

And they built they’d built a ship the water would never go through. But the great Lord raised his hand, said the ship would never land,

It was sad when the great ship went down.

*Chorus: It was sad (so sad)

It was sad when the great ship went down

To the bottom of the sea....

(husbands and wives, little children lost their lives)

It was sad when the great ship went down.

They were sailing away from England, they were close to the shore When the rich refused to associate with the poor.

So they sent them down below, where they'd be the first to go.

It was sad when the great ship went down.

*

The boat was about to sink, the sides about to burst,

When the captain shouted women and children first

Oh, the captain tried to wire, but the wire was on fire.

It was sad when the great ship went down

*

They lowered all the lifeboats to the dark and stormy sea,

As the band was playing "Nearer My God to thee"

Little children wept and cried, as the waves swept over the side

It was sad when the great ship went down

*

Oh the moral of this story, as you can plainly see,

Is to wear a life preserver when you go out to sea.

The Titanic once was but never more shall be,

It was sad when the great ship went down.

*

Today

*Chorus: Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine,

I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine.

A million tomorrows shall all pass away,

Ere I forget all the joy that is mine, today.

I can't be contented with yesterday's glory,

I can't live on promises winter to spring.

Today is the moment and now is the song,

I'll laugh and I'll cry and I'll sing.

*

I'll be a dandy and I'll be a rover,

You'll know who I am by the songs that I sing.

I'll feast at your table, I'll sleep in your clover,

Who cares what tomorrow may bring.

Um Plicka Plicka

She sat by the river and strummed her guitar

Strummed her guitar, strummed her guitar

She sat by the river and strummed her guitar

Strummed her guita-a-a-ar!

*Chorus: um plicka plicka, um plicka, plicka

Um plick, plick, plick

He sat down beside her and smoked his cigar

Smoked his cigar, smoked his cigar

He sat down beside hre and smoked his cigar

Oh, how he lied, oh, how he lied

He said that he loved her but oh, how he lied,

Oh, how he li-i-i-ied!

*

They were to be married but somehow she died

Somehow she died, somehow she died

They were to be married but somehow she died

Somehow she di-i-i-ied!

*

He went to her funeral but just for the ride

Just for the ride, just for the ride

He went to her funeral but just for the ride

Just for the ri-i-i-ide!

*

He sat on her tombstone and laughed till he cried

Laughed till he cried, laughed till he cried

He sat on her tombstone and laughed till he cried

Laughed till he cri-i-i-ied!

*

The tombstone fell over and squish squash, he died

Squish squash, he died, squish squash, he died

The tombstone fell over and squish squash, he died

Squish, squash, he di-i-i-ied!

*

She flew up to heaven and flittered and flied,

Flittered and flied, flittered and flied

Flittered and fli-i-i-ied!

*

He went down below her and sizzled and fried,

Sizzled and fried, sizzled and fried

He went down below her and sizzled and fried,

Sizzled and fri-i-i-ied!

The moral of the story is never to lie,

Never to lie, never to lie

The moral of the story is never to lie,

Never to li-i-i-ie!

The Unicorn

A long time ago when the earth was green

There was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen

They'd run around free while the earth was being born

But the lovliest of them all was the Unicorn

There was green alligators and long-necked geese

Some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees

Some cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born

The lovliest of all was the Unicorn

The Lord seen some sinning and it gave him pain

And he says, "Stand back, I'm going to make it rain."

He says, "Brother Noah I'll tell you what to do

Build me a floating zoo, and

Take some of them..."

Green alligators and long-necked geese

Some humpy-backed camels and some chimpanzees

Some cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born

Don't you forget my Unicorn

Old Noah was there to answer the call

He finished makin' the Ark just as the rain started to fall

He marched the animals two by two

And he called out as they went through,

"Hey Lord,

I’ve got Green alligators and long-necked geese

Some humpy-backed camels and some chimpanzees

Some cats and rats and elephants but Lord I'm so forlorn

I just can't see no Unicorns

And Noah looked out through the driving rain

Them Unicorns were hiding playing silly games

Kicking and splashing while the rain was falling

Oh, them silly Unicorns

There was green alligators and long-necked geese

Some humpy-backed camels and some chimpanzees

Noah cried "Close the door because the rain is falling

And we just can't wait for no Unicorns."

The Ark started moving, it drifted with the tide

Them Unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried

And the waters came down and sort of floated them away

And that's why you've never see unicorn to this very day

You'll see some green alligators and long-necked geese

Some humpy-backed camels and some chimpanzees

Some cats and rats and elephants but as sure as you're born

You're never gonna see no Unicorns

Wake me up Gently

In the early mornin’

When the sun is creepin’

Into my bedroom while I’m still sleepin’

I know you’ll be tempted to try and wake me up

I’ll have a heart attack if that alarm sounds

If you pour water on me, I’m apt to drown

To shake the bed is like to send me into shock

*chorus: You gotta wake me up gently

Wake me up slow

Wake me up like a mellow love song

On the radio

Well, I never did like sudden starts

You know they

Hurt yours eyes and break your heart

Wake me up gently

Wake me slow

Well I once knew a lady with yellow hair

Who slept like a log and roared like a bear

Perchance you should meet her when she woke

Well I don’t know where she’s living now

Who shares her bed

Who make her smile

But whoever you are there’s something you should know

*

Well I can see by the glow in the moonlight

That you are also a creature of the night

So take a chance and run with me a while

Well I don’t always act just like I should

But I’ve been told by some I’m very good

I run through the night like a nova star gone wild

*

Walk with Me

* Chorus: Walk with me and talk with me

And say you’ll be my friend

And together we’ll work out a harmony

On a road that will never end

Although our roads are different

Just watch as they converge

We’ve got a job to do together

Our songs they must be heard

*

Sisters for the summer

That’s what the children say

But little do they know when they go away

Our friendship will never fade

*

So when you’re down, I’ll build you up

And when you’re up, I’ll laugh with you

And together we’ll find a peace of mind

That only true friends find.

Watermelon Song

Everybody get your watermelons out

Just put a watermelon right over your head

And let the juice slip through

Just put a watermelon right over your head

That’s all I ask of you

Now southern fried chicken might taste mighty fine

But nothing tastes better then a watermelon rind

So put a watermelon right over your head

And let the juice slip through

Let the Juice slip through

Oh baby let the juice slip through cha!

He owns a weenie stand.

He sells most anything from hot dogs on down.

Someday I’ll change his life.

I’ll be his weenie wife.

Hot dog, I love that weenie man.

Wherever You Go

Wherever you go

In this world

My friend

May you be safe?

Till we meet again

And remember my friends

I will always be there for you

If you need me

I’ll see you through my friend

We’ve sung our songs

And we’ve dreamed our dreams

But times passed by

Much too quickly it seems

So when we say goodbye

If a tear shines through

It’s just that love is in my eyes

For you.

White Coral Bells

White coral bells

Upon a slender stalk

Lilies of the valley

Deck my garden walk

Oh, don’t you wish

That you could

Hear them ring

That will happen only

when the fairies sing.

Worms

Nobody likes me.

Everybody hates me.

I’m gonna eat some worms.

*Chorus: Long, slim slimy ones,

Short, fat, juicy ones,

Itsy, bitsy, fuzzy, wuzzy worms.

First you get a bucket.

Then you get a shovel.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

*

First you pull the heads off.

Then you suck the guts out.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

*

Down goes the first one.

Down goes the second one.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

*

Up comes the first one.

Up comes the second one.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

*

Everybody likes me.

Nobody hates me.

Why did I eat those worms?
