Individual ReportStudent Name: Hannah CalowSID: 5354850Assessment Item No.: 2Assessment Title: Report on reflection and evaluation of installation and configuration of the required system on Raspberry Pi Software item: Text editor - emacsResult of installation (success or fail): SuccessReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) I installed emacs via the raspberry pi terminal using the command “sudo apt-get install emacs”. I had no issues downloading the text editor and it seems to work fairly well so I would regard this installation a success. Prior to this installation I had never downloaded anything using the terminal and so installing the text editor was a good starting point. Software item: Python programming environment - IDLEResult of installation (success or fail): SuccessReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) The python programming environment IDLE came pre-installed on the Raspbian operating system and so I didn’t need to install anything for this section, therefore I would regard this installation as a success. Software item: Remote desktop Result of installation (success or fail): FailReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) I haven’t been able to set up a remote desktop connection to the Raspberry Pi as we haven’t received our WiFi dongles yet. I also don’t have a WiFi connection in my accommodation and so I haven’t been able to use my laptop to set up a remote desktop connection. However, once we receive our WiFi dongles I will be able to set this up and all being well it should be a success. Software item: C++ environment - CodeblocksResult of installation (success or fail): SuccessReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) I installed Codeblocks as a C++ environment onto the Raspberry Pi using the terminal. I used the command “sudo apt-get install codeblocks” and I had no issues downloading this. I decided to install Codeblocks as the C++ environment as I am fairly familiar with the program as we use it for the coding section of the Computer Science course. Software item: A web server - Apache2Result of installation (success or fail): SuccessReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) I installed Apache2 as the web server via the Raspberry Pi terminal and I used the command “sudo apt-get apache2”. I had no issues downloading this and the web server should work well when it is needed later on in the course.Software item: Wi-Fi capability Result of installation (success or fail): FailReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) As with the remote desktop installation, I cannot currently enable WiFi as we haven’t received the WiFi dongles yet and so the Raspberry Pi doesn’t have any WiFi capability.Software item: A game of your choice - MinecraftResult of installation (success or fail): SuccessReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) I installed Minecraft Pi Edition onto the Raspberry Pi as my game of choice as I thought that this would be a fairly simple game to download and would be appropriate. I had no issues downloading it and so far have had no issues playing it.Software item: A media player - VLC PlayerResult of installation (success or fail): SuccessReflection on skills/knowledge acquired: (may include any problems encountered and respective resolutions) The media player VLC Player came pre-installed on the Raspberry Pi and so I didn’t feel the need to install another one as this one seemed adequate, therefore I would regard this installation as a success. ................
