Highlights for the Week

Wakefield, VA

WEATHER FORECAST OFFICE

? Developing low pressure will track along the coastal Carolinas Friday into Friday night, bringing increasing clouds and a chance for showers Friday & Friday night. Showers are most likely across eastern portions of Hampton Roads and northeast North Carolina.

? Behind the departing coastal system, a cold front will cross the area late this weekend, bringing another chance for showers over the entire area Saturday afternoon through early Sunday.

? Marine Weather ? Small Craft Advisories are in effect for the lower Bay, lower James, Currituck Sound, and the Atlantic coastal waters south of Chincoteague. Easterly winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt are possible. Waves 2-3 ft, seas 4-5 ft, building to 6-7 ft south late Friday and Friday night. Winds shift to the S-SE on Saturday, then W-NW on Sunday with improving boating conditions late Sunday through the middle of next week. Additional Small Craft Advisories are possible over the coastal waters this weekend.
