Assessment, Testing and Evaluation

She has extensive experience in outcomes assessment in higher education and in education projects. She worked in the Office of Institutional Planning, Assessment, Research & Testing of the American University in Cairo (AUC) for 11 years. As an assessment and evaluation consultant and trainer she has extensive experience in working with donor-funded education projects in Egypt, with senior level government and donor officials and with the public and private education sector. She has participated and led evaluation supervision missions for the World Bank and EU, designed and conducted evaluation studies for USAID and was the education performance measurement specialist for CIDA for two years (list of consultancies are included under educational consultancy experience).

Her experience in assessment and evaluation includes designing, conducting and reporting on educational program evaluations, baseline assessment, training needs assessment, validation of performance standards and designing standardized tests and test item analysis.

Education Leadership and Administration

As an education leader, she has experience in leading and managing a range of operations in one of the schools of the top private universities in Egypt. As Dean of the American University in Cairo’s School of Continuing Education, she provides strategic vision and leadership of the school and oversees a wide range of programs in the areas of English language, IT studies, business and management studies, Arabic language, translation and teacher training. She also has experience in designing strategic plans that are results based for both the university and for external entities. She participated in setting Egypt’s national education strategic plan and advised the Ministry of Education in implementation of the plan. She also participated in UNESCO’s education support strategy for Egypt. She has led and managed teams in a variety of contexts within AUC and with donor-funded education projects in Egypt with international consultants.
