The preclinical curriculum has been designed to integrate the different basic science courses to help students develop their clinical decision making abilities through active learning sessions like Team Based Learning (TBL), Case Based Learning (CBL) and Self Directed Learning (SDL), which are introduced right from the first year of the MBBS Program. In addition, clinical training and internships are provided in government hospitals at Ras Al Khaimah & Fujairah.

Important dates

Online application will be received from 02nd April for the academic session commencing 05th Sept. Online applications will be received for MBBS until 15th July OR until seats are filled in / whichever is earlier. Eligible applicants will be called for an interview and personality test at RAKMHSU campus based on the merit/marks secured in grade 12 examinations, Interviews will begin from 01st June onwards and go on every week until seats are filled in. (Refer Admissions Bulletin in website for details) . Student orientation, registration and commencement of Classes:05th Sept.

RAKMHSU's Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program comprises of two years of pre clerkship (integrated applied basic sciences) courses & 3 years of clinical clerkship courses. The total program duration is five years. After graduation, one year internship is required as per the guidelines of the ministry of health, UAE, to practice medicine in the UAE. The curriculum provides learning opportunities for medical students to acquire fundamental knowledge, basic skills and appropriate principles relevant to health care in the context of the community. The five year curriculum has been designed to follow integrated and problem oriented approach to medical science. It integrates basic and clinical sciences, enabling students to apply their knowledge to health care and develop a professional yet compassionate approach to the analysis and management of health.
