Minnesota Teacher and Related Services Licensure Fields

This document identifies the licensure fields for teacher and related services that are currently available in Minnesota. Additional information included is a link to the Minnesota Rule, the grade level, and whether the license is a full license or endorsement.

An endorsement is a license that is added to an existing license. While all licenses can be added to an existing license, an endorsement license cannot stand alone. This means an individual must already hold a Minnesota teaching license or be adding a full teaching license at the same time as the endorsement license. Several of the endorsement licenses require a specific base license.

While the age or grade scope is listed, if an individual has completed a state-approved program outside of Minnesota that is not the same as the Minnesota grade level for that license, the Minnesota license the individual receives may have a restricted grade level.
