Teachers Guide for Acid-Base Reactions

½ tsp. baking soda 1 Tbl. lemon juice . ½ tsp. Salt 1 C. buttermilk or yogurt. 1/3 cup shortening 2 cups blueberries. Sift together dry ingredients except sugar; set aside. Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in egg. Stir in lemon juice. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk or yogurt. Stir until smooth. Fold in floured blueberries. ................
