Strand I: Artistic Foundations
Standard 1: Demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of the art area.
Element: Color, Line, and Shape
A. Be able to find circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, and irregular shapes in art.(emphasis)
B. Be able to make shapes in the same size and smaller or larger.(emphasis)
C. Be able to find lines in art.(emphasis)
D. Be able to recognize the different tints and shades in colors.(emphasis)
E. Be able to identify complimentary colors.(emphasis)

materials, such as painting, drawing/coloring, and 3 – Dimensional art.
Standard 3: Demonstrate understanding of the personal, social, cultural, and historical contexts that
influence the art areas.
