Annual Loan Counseling The ME Center oversaw the Univeresity's involvement in the Department of Education's Loan Counseling Experiment, which required selected students to complete additional loan counseling prior to the disbursement of their

federal student loans.

ME Center advisors proactively reached out to delinquent federal student loan borrowers during the 2016-2017 academic year. Texas A&M's Official Cohort Default Rate dropped from 4.1% to 2.3% for FY 2014.
