Mini - Profile of Spring 2010 Students at Montgomery College

Spring 2010 student headcount is 24,955 - an increase of 1,595 students (6.8%) from last spring's 23,360, and credit hours of enrollment are 225,544 - up 8.6% from last year's 207,615. Students took an average of 9.04 credits, up from last spring's 8.88 average load, while the number of full-time students increased to 37.1% of the student body.

About 84% of the students (21,084) were "continuing or returning" - some 4,697 of them had been new in Fall or Winter, while 16% were new-to-the-college in Spring. Sixty-four percent of the students are nonwhite or "more than one race," and fifty-four percent are women. There are 3,322 students (13.3%) taking at least one (entirely online) distance education course - up 437 (+15.1%) students from last spring. Hours of enrollment in 100% online courses are up to 13,319, which is 5.9% of all Spring hours of enrollment.
