When you choose a biography to read it must be approximately 100 pages long. Your person must have had a significant positive impact on the world. Your person may NOT be an entertainer or an athlete. You must have your biography book approved by Mrs. Smith. You will be expected to take about 6 to 13 pages of notes from your book. You may also choose to find additional information from other sources.

1 Bio Riddle

This is a poem that you will create to give the reader clues about who you researched. Write at least a 12-line poem giving clues about your character. Remember, the more clues given, the easier it is for the reader to infer who you are talking about.

2 Oh You Kid!

This is a page about your person as a child. You will describe your person’s childhood. You need to cite page numbers to reference your book.

3 Family Tree

This is a family tree for your character's life. This is a page about your person's family and friends. Fill the spaces on the tree with facts about your person's family and friends. You also need to site page numbers for reference to your book.

4-5 Report Card & Explanation

This is a pretend report card that you will create about your person. This is an opportunity for you to show your person's talents and abilities. Show the possible subjects that your person would have taken and the grades that he or she might have received. Also make up pretend subjects for your person that shows his or her strengths or weaknesses. The most important part of creating this page is the explanation. On a separate page you need to type an explanation of why your character took these classes and why he or she received these grades. Please site page numbers from your book.

6-7 Time of My Life & Explanation

This is a page that shows historic events that were going on during your person's life. You will need to do research to find out the time period in which your person was alive. You will need to find a famous book or author or their time; an invention or discovery of their time; a famous artist or composer of their time; another famous person who lived when they did; an important social issue or historical event of their time; another person of any time who did work like your person. A good resource to use is and you can look for a time line based on century or decade to search for important events.

8 News Flash

This is a news article that you will write about your person's most important event in his or her life. You will write a news story about your person's most important event. You need to have a date for when your article might have been seen in a newspaper. Make sure your give your story a headline and a photo. Be sure to not repeat any story you have already used for another scrapbook page.

9 Obituary

This is an article written about your person's death. Be sure to include his or her birth information, major life accomplishments and activities, and information about his or her family. If your person has not dies yet, then you will need to give information as if he or she died today.

10 Memories

This page is about special memories in your person's life. You will choose two memories, a special friend, and a most prized possession from your person's life. For each you must have a picture, photograph, or magazine clipping and an explanation for each. Be sure to include page numbers from your book.

11-12 Dan Flanders

This is a letter written from your character to an advice columnist. For this page you will write a letter to an advice columnist in a newspaper with a problem your character has been having. Then you will pretend you are Dan Flanders and respond with writing a letter back to your character with advice to help with the problem.
