Project: Leadership In SportsHow have sports figures displayed qualities of good leadership?Sports is one of the only parts of our society that has remained (for the most part) a meritocracy. What this means is that a person’s position is determined solely by their skills, abilities, and hard work. In sports, especially at the professional level, the most skilled and talented athletes are rewarded with not only prestige and position, but also wealth and fame. Oftentimes, these rewards can lead to athletes setting a poor example for aspiring athletes. What we will focus on for this project, are those athletes who are leaders not only in their respective sport, but also in life. TASK: You will select one of the athletes listed below and address the following research questions using Sway. Each question needs a response of AT LEAST 8 to 10 sentences.**You need to create a new Sway entitled "Leadership in Sports- Your Last Name."-What extraordinary accomplishments has this athlete achieved within their sport? (ie: awards, breaking records, championships, etc.-How does this athlete conduct themselves as a responsible leader, not only within their sport but also in society?-How has this athlete given back to society? (ie: contributions to charitable organizations, volunteer work, public speaking, and responsible use of social media)List of Influential Athletes(if you would like to research an athlete not on the list you must check with your teacher first)Michael Jordan Jim Thorpe Bo Jackson Deion Sanders Muhammad Ali Jim Brown Babe Ruth Bobby Orr Roger Federer Ronda Rousey Bruce Lee Dan GableWayne GretzkyCheryl MillerJackie-Joyner KerseeNadia ComaneciAaron RodgersDavid BeckhamPat Tillman Alex MorganWalter PaytonChristiano Ronaldo Kareem Abdul-JabbarBabe Didrikson Zaharias. Coaches are an excellent choice as well, i.e. Vince Lombardi, Coach K, John Wooden, Casey Stengel. Project RequirementsYour Sway presentation must include:-Two cards of background information, explaining the family life and journey your individual took to become an accomplished athlete (5-8 sentences each).-One card explaining each of the research questions (at least 8-10 sentences).-One multimedia clip card (ex: YouTube) in the presentation demonstrating their abilities both in and out of the game.-At least 5 images of your athlete both inside and outside of sports*Slide presentations must be ENGAGING! Bullet points are fine, but they should be complete sentences. Include a lot of visuals to make the Sway more appealing. You do NOT have to use Sway. If you would prefer to create a physical version of the project, that is fine as well. This may be done on a piece of poster board that your teacher will provide to you. You are responsible to printing out all of the text and visuals necessary. ................
